Prepare to forget about smartphones! 📱 Augmented Reality (AR) holds immense potential in the mid-term. As hardware continues to advance and modern AI development progresses, the case for AR grows stronger. I predict that various wearable devices, some of which will be AR-enabled, will eventually replace smartphones entirely. This presents significant business and investment opportunities. #AugmentedReality #AR #AI #WearableTech

Hi, I’m Cassidy Hooper, an employee at Lions Services. I recently had the opportunity to try out the new META Ray-Ban smart glasses, and it’s been an incredible experience. For someone with vision loss like me, the built-in speakers and voice control have made everyday tasks easier, from listening to music to making hands-free calls. I’m excited about the potential of this technology to offer more accessibility features in the future, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves to further support people in the blind and low vision community. Have you used the Meta Ray Ban Smart Glasses and how do you like them? Comment in the section below. #AccessibilityMatters #RayBanMetaSmartGlasses #LowVision

This is mind blowing 🤯! Although Orion will be available only to a few Meta employees and some external people, this is marks a great progress for Meta in the AR world. Apple will definitely feel some competition in the upcoming years. Will we see Apple Watch haptic controls integrated to the next generation of Apple Vision Pro? What about starting with a new not so bulky design? https://lnkd.in/gJNet69V

Meta just showed their prototype of #orion #ar glasses. They look really promising. It has been said many times so far that the future of #spatialcomputing is getting more lightweight headset that could be worn for a longer period. With Orion, we might get there much earlier than we expected. #extendedreality #arvr #augmentedreality #mixedreality #mixedreality Checkout the video:

Hey guys, Meta announced the new update v65 for Meta Quest, here are the details: Spatial Video Updates Back in February, we introduced spatial video playback as part of the v62 software update. If you have an iPhone, you can upload spatial (a.k.a. stereoscopic) videos to your Meta Quest headset using the Meta Quest mobile app, enabling you to view your memories and media content like never before. And yes, we mean any iPhone. While spatial video playback originally launched only for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, with v65 we’re now making it accessible to everyone on iOS 17 and later. Panorama Stills We’re also adding support for another media format that’s uniquely suited to VR: Panoramas. Chances are you’ve taken a panoramic photo before—maybe you visited a landmark like the Colosseum or Shibuya Crossing and wanted to capture the whole scene in one go, or maybe you just were experimenting with your phone’s capabilities. But then what? Viewing panoramas on your phone or PC is a far cry from actually being there. VR is a different story. Open a panorama on your Meta Quest headset and it’s almost like you’re there again, taking in the sights. Get started by opening the Meta Quest mobile app on iOS 17 and later and uploading panoramas to your Meta Quest account. Once uploaded, you can access your panoramic stills from the Files menu in your Meta Quest headset. Passthrough Improvements Feeling a little déjà vu? We just rolled out a number of improvements to Passthrough on Meta Quest 3 in v64, but we’ve got another one in store for v65. We’re changing how some of our system menus work. Previously, the lockscreen, power-off menu, and other important panels always appeared in a gray void-like VR environment—even if you were using MR Home. We’ve fixed this, enabling you to remain entirely in MR from the moment you power on Meta Quest 3 until you put it down again. https://lnkd.in/erCZRWPT

I feel the need, the need for speed 🚀 🚀 You need speed for successful data transmission when real-time streaming over the internet. Without it you are subjected to lag, freezing and jittering, sometimes all within moments and no one enjoys a crash and reboot either.. Fortunately, we have the solution that enables real-time full body streaming over the Internet with speed, no PC required and no limits on your capture area. Dive into the demonstration below to witness our approach in action 👇. On the left is our Director app, connected to the Internet, and on the right is Peter Robins, wearing our suit and a Meta headset, which is also directly connected to the Internet. There are no PCs in this entire workflow, making everything exceptionally easy to set up. The Meta headset serves two purposes: 1️⃣ We use its cameras to capture additional data. 2️⃣ It enables performers to visually connect with one another. The result is that Performit Live have a patented pipeline that streams data anywhere in the world in real-time, including straight into an Epic Games Unreal Engine. For all the artists and creatives this opens endless possibilities for you. We love to share as we reach our milestones and the team Peter Robins, Lez Andrew, Ferenc Visztra and James Banfield work really hard to constantly deliver. We're keenly aware of the buzz surrounding Apple Vision Pro launch. Rest assured, we'll delve into that narrative in our update next week 😉. #realtime #remoteproduction #innovation

FASCINATING INSIGHTS INTO ZUCK'S BIG AR BET: Zuck believes (correctly) that glasses is the next hardware platform. It adds AI to what you see. He learnt from missing out on the last hardware platform... mobile phones. He sees glasses coming in 4 form factors. On 1 end, audio only glasses. On the other end, full goggles like Apple Vision Pros. He's covered the bases for our AR/VR future. https://lnkd.in/gpDi4W5s #ar #vr #mr #technology
