Well, goodness me. Last night was my work Christmas party. There were awards voted on by colleagues. I loved celebrating their achievements and hearing about their endeavours. Then my name was called… I am so very genuinely shocked. And embarrassed! I do what I do to try and leave the world better than I found it. I’m so touched that people feel the impact of that and felt compelled to give the work some recognition. I could not do the work I do without the collaboration of so many. I celebrate THEIR boldness and what we are achieving together. 2024 was a tough year for me - with some really unkind people who made my path very bumpy. I hope they are reading this post. And I hope others who might be doubting themselves, feeling discouraged, questioning if it’s all worth it - I hope they also read this post and find some resolve to keep going. You ARE making a difference and you are making the world a better place. Keep at it - we feel you!!

Neil Griffiths , I met you for the first time just under two weeks ago but in that very short space of time, I’ve been fortunate enough to witness your drive and passion in full force. This award is of no surprise to me and is clearly very well-deserved. Congratulations and thank you for all that you do.

Possibly one of the least surprising award recipients of the year! People see actions beyond words and your peers have clearly seen yours. To someone who puts themselves out to understand, travel and advocate in the place of so many others I salute you. One privilege I am so pleased to have is the one to know and work with you. Just simply fabulous…

And well, your name should’ve been called! Congratulations, Neil. You are doing amazing work. You are making a difference. And I feel honored to be a part of the world that you’re changing.

If anyone who was, or ever will be, unkind to you, is reading this, I will say BOLD karma is world-changing in both directions. Proud to call you friend, Neil!
