This paper proposes a multi-RIS-aided architecture where the sensor nodes communicate with the help of RISs to overcome the detrimental impact of #impulsive #noise (#IN) and channel fading on #radio #frequency (#RF) links between the sensor nodes. A realistic scenario is considered in which both the RISs and the destination sensor are affected by #impulsive #noise (#IN) and there is presence of imperfect #channel #state #information (#CSI) at the destination node. ----@Aman Sikri, Minh Au, Georges Kaddoum More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/g2RYFMDT

I'm thrilled to share that my review paper on optimization techniques in Network-on-Chip (NoC) architecture has been published in IEEE Xplore! 🎉 This paper reviews recent advances in network-on-chip (NoC) optimization techniques, focusing on addressing challenges related to fault tolerance and congestion management in multicore systems. It explores innovative strategies that enhance the resilience and efficiency of NoC systems, including fault-tolerant routing algorithms, wireless NoC congestion control mechanisms, dynamic voltage scaling techniques, and design methodologies for heterogeneous architectures. The effectiveness of these strategies is evaluated in terms of network latency, energy efficiency, and system reliability. This comprehensive overview provides valuable insights into the current state of the art and future directions in NoC optimization, serving as a resource for researchers and practitioners in the field. This article proposes a novel approach termed #model-#based #multisensor #fault #detection, #isolation, and #accommodation (#MM-#SFDIA) technique to mitigate multiple sensor faults occurring simultaneously in large-scale distributed systems. The proposed approach leverages a distributed filtering framework, employing multiple local #ensemble #Kalman #filters (#EnKFs). Each individual local filter generates a distinct local state estimation using a distinct set of sensor measurements. By analyzing the differences among these local state estimates, a strategy based on state consistency, the faulty sensors are identified. ---- Khadija Shaheen, Apoorva Chawla, Ferdinand Evert Uilhoorn, Pierluigi Salvo Rossi More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/ek-BXqpq

This paper proposes a #promising #transceiver #architecture relying on #stacked #intelligent #metasurfaces (#SIM). An SIM is constructed by stacking an array of programmable metasurface layers, where each layer consists of a massive number of #low-#cost #passive #meta-#atoms that individually manipulate the #electromagnetic (#EM) waves. By appropriately configuring the passive meta-atoms, an SIM is capable of accomplishing advanced computation and signal processing tasks, such as #multiple-#input #multiple-#output (#MIMO) precoding/combining, multi-user interference mitigation, and radar sensing, as the EM wave propagates through the multiple layers of the metasurface, which effectively reduces both the #RF-#related #energy #consumption and #processing #delay. Inspired by this, the authors provide an overview of the #SIM-#aided #MIMO #transceiver #design, which encompasses its hardware architecture and its potential benefits over state-of-the-art solutions. ----Jiancheng An, Chau Yuen, @Chao Xu, @Hongbin Li, @Derrick Wing Kwan Ng, Marco Di Renzo, Merouane Debbah, Lajos Hanzo More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/gQcumtwn
