The Great intimacy secret! 😉 This secret is one of the greatest keys to creating copy Writing. People buy from people they like. When you allow your personality to come through, people feel a sense of intimacy with you. They begin to trust you. And like you. Rapport is built. And sales happen. 💡 All of the great copywriters that I can think of wrote in their own voice. They didn’t try to be someone else. Forget trying to imitate any writer you admire. ( Studying other writers is a wise way to learn how they wrote. I just don’t want you to become another writer.) Erase everything you ever learned about “how to write.” From now on, you have to write in any way that feels right to you. ➡ If your style is to use slang, then use slang. ➡ If you are from a different country, let that uniqueness come forth. ➡ If you like to tell funny stories, then tell them. ➡ Your style is your voice, and your voice will create an intimacy with your reader that is profound. Now just listen your words to become a successful " Copy writer "

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆? __________________ Often times, what makes someone a good writer, is ability to unite related ideas, and group them in a way readers can understand. Don't worry, I'll make it simple here for you to understand. How does a writer group ideas? It's by understanding the concept of paragraphing. Just to make you understand, a paragraph is a piece of writing that is made up of several sentences on a related idea. The first sentence of a paragraph introduces the main idea, and it's called topic sentence. Now, if the first paragraph - the topic sentence, introduces what you're writing about, what will other paragraphs do? It's simple! 🤷. They support and elaborate the topic sentence for readers to understand what the writer writes about. Hence, you can't bring all ideas together, "related and unrelated" and think people will enjoy your piece. No, dear! It's not done that way. Every writer - a Copywriter, Ghostwriter, Technical and Hypnotic Writer; all of them need this concept for a smooth flow of idea in any piece of writing. One thing is, paragraphs do not only make your writing interesting, but it also makes a piece of writing looks neat. Look at this piece, isn't it neat for you to read? It is, right. That's the essence of paragraph. Note: a well- written paragraph has three Cs; clear, concise and cohesive. Now that you have understood a bit about paragraphing, can we delve into types of paragraphing? Of course, we should. But, it will be in another section of the post. Look at the next post. I'm reading "A River Runs Through It." Truly the Great American Novel. (And a great movie!) This is the first sentence. So many of Norman Maclean's sentences are pure poetry. But in between he tells an honest story that is profound and heartbreaking. I didn't know the story was autobiographical. He wrote it at 70. It was his first novel. He had a lifetime to prepare though, teaching writing at Dartmouth. In the front matter, he shares insight into storytelling: "If I am a storyteller, I got my early training in a bunkhouse, and, if you are familiar with the bunkhouse variety of narrative art, you can see readily that my present stories still have these humble origins. [A] characteristic of the western story is that practically always it has something to do with the truth, but it was only later that I realized how complicated the relationships are." Complicated indeed. I'll just leave you with this - the protagonist of "A River Runs Through It" describes his brother fly fishing: “The cast is so soft and slow that it can be followed like an ash settling from a fireplace chimney. One of life’s quiet excitements is to stand somewhat apart from yourself and watch yourself softly becoming the author of something beautiful, even if it is only a floating ash.” Kevin Orfield Communications Copy that connects. Writing is more than just words. It's sentences. Paragraphs. Pages. Brochures. Detailers. Books. Libraries. Writing can be stating the obvious. But it can and should be so much more. Great writing is wit, emotion and color. It's taking universally recognized symbols, eating them up and digesting them into the unexpected. It's knowing when to wax poetic on the winds of creativity and capture the human experience into electric strands of prose. Great writing is also knowing when to put on the breaks. You've said enough. Not one letter more. I'm not yet a great writer, but I strive to be one. I am curious. I crave a challenge. I am not bound by one style, voice, brand, client or attitude. I can write a poem, if you like. Banners and headlines, sure. Video scripts and radio clips, I got you. If you've got pudding on the brain, here's the proof: https://lnkd.in/gHPUFJ4G Let's chat.

𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙥𝙮 20% 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧. While going through the book 'On Writing' by Stephen King... I came across the #1 tip of editing copy. Which is: “𝑶𝒎𝒊𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔.” It's as simple as that. And you know what... That’s the entire chapter. This highlights the importance of this single rule to edit your copy. As a copywriter, whenever you write a copy, go through it again and again. Read it loudly. Edit it while thinking - what words are unnecessary? What should I keep and what should I cut? That’ll make your copy ➡️ 𝑻𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓 ➡️ 𝑷𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒓 ➡️ 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈. This is even more crucial when it comes to “short copy” like ➡️ 𝑬𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒔 ➡️ 𝑨𝒅𝒔 ➡️ 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 ➡️ 𝑩𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒔 Cut the fluff. Make it concise. Your copy will flow like water. That's it for today. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If it was helpful, give it a thumbs up 👍 and share your thoughts.

With so much talk about #AI, we forget about the basics. I remember all the long hours of writing by hand when I was in school and then uni. I need to practice this more now! #Writing #WritingSkills #Copy #Editing #HumanWriting
One way to become a 10x better writer (without spending $500 on a course): Take your favorite author. Find their best work. Copy it, word for word. Do it by hand. It's called copywork. This morning, I copied page 130 of Steinbeck’s East of Eden. Copywork's been part of my writing routine for a while now. But why go through the hand cramps? Why spend 20 min copying a single page? How does this seemingly bizarre practice actually help? Something funny happens: Your brain starts to pattern match. Oh, that’s how to write a great hook. There, they built tension. Ah, that’s an open loop. Over time, you pick and choose bits of style from each writer to create your unique blend. Your hand gets used to what great writing feels like. Want to practice business writing? Buffett's shareholder letters are on the internet. Want to practice comedy? Find a script from Seinfeld. Want to get into copywriting? Do this with the Boron Letters. You can do this exercise for speeches, comedy, copywriting, business writing, etc. Really, any kind of writing. I focus on books. It’s the single exercise that has improved my writing the most.

This works well to improve UI skills too: Tracing existing screens, interactions and animations in Figma is a great way to get better at designing mockups and prototypes.

LET ME TAKE YOU THROUGH THINGS TO AVOID AS A COPY WRITER!!!! 📌. Avoid getting too wordy❌. we are in a world where everyone is busy at all times. They need what you are advertising but they don't have time to read epistle like advert just to patronize you. They expect that your copy be short and straight to the point. In that way, you capture their attention. In writing a copy, make every word count. let it be short and persuasive. 📌. Avoid inconsistency ❌ . People trust what they see often more. If you wish for your copy to convert and generate massive leads, you must be consistent. It is only consistency that converts an onlooker to a loyal customer. Did you learn anything new? drop your thought in the comment section please, I want to read from you🙏. #LADYBsINK.
