We’ve taken a major step in expanding the availability of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel (#SAF) to airlines operating from airports east of the Rocky Mountains all the way to the East Coast of the United States. Neste has commissioned terminal capacity at ONEOK terminal in Houston, Texas for blending and storing of up to 100,000 tons (around 33.5 million gallons) of Neste’s SAF. The terminal is directly connected to the energy pipeline infrastructure enabling access to SAF at airports across the central and eastern parts of the U.S. This is what Alexander Kueper, Vice President, Renewable Aviation Business at Neste says about this milestone👇 “This expansion of our SAF supply capabilities working together with partners such as ONEOK along the fuel supply chain, provides a reliable basis for supplying SAF to domestic and visiting airlines at airports across the eastern part of the country as well as a solid base for supporting policies on state, federal, and local levels in the U.S.” Read more: https://bit.ly/3WzqZ99 #Neste #Sustainable #Renewables #EnergyTransition

Brittany Ferries, Wärtsilä, and Incat Tasmania have signed a partnership deal to explore the design and technical requirements for a 137m zero-emissions craft. The project comes as Brittany Ferries nears the completion of the biggest fleet renewal program in its history. Five new vessels will have joined the fleet between 2020 and 2025, including two LNG-powered ships (currently in service) and two shore-power-ready LNG-electric hybrids. The tripartite deal brings together heavyweight marine partners with complementary strengths. Their expertise includes the design and construction of fast craft, all aspects of engineering and technical needs, and experience in operating a large and diverse fleet. Wärtsilä is a supplier to all five new ships in Brittany Ferries ongoing fleet renewal project. This includes LNG engines that power Salamanca, which joined the fleet in 2022, and Santoña in 2023. In addition, Wärtsilä is installing LNG-hybrid drivetrains for hybrid vessels currently under construction and set to sail for Europe by the end of this year. #bunkering #bunkermarket #energy #shipping #maritime #shipowners #decarbonization #digitalization #energytransition #oilandgas #ports #marinefuels #netzero #uk #europe #france #ireland #spain #brittanyferries #ferries #incat #wartsila #netzero #zeroemissions https://lnkd.in/d5h7B8Nm

🌟 Exciting news from the maritime sector! Fjuel Tromsø and the Trondheim Havn IKS have been awarded funding from Enova SF for #shorepower projects, marking a significant step towards reducing emissions in their respective ports. In the latest round, Enova allocated nearly 143 million NOK to 17 shore power projects across various Norwegian regions, supporting sustainable energy solutions in ports nationwide. 🚢 Fjuel Tromsø will build a shore power facility in Breivika designated for larger #cruise ships visiting Tromsø Havn KF, one of Norway's premier cruise destinations. With an average layover of 14.4 hours throughout the year and approximately 200 cruise ship visits annually, the demand for sustainable energy solutions is pressing. This facility will significantly reduce emissions and solidify Tromsø's position as a leader in green port infrastructure. 🌊 Meanwhile, in Trondheim, plans are underway to establish a shore power facility at kai 68 in Brattøra, reflecting the port’s commitment to sustainable maritime practices. With the dock spanning 96 meters, it presents an ideal location for such infrastructure. Following Enova's support in establishing the facility, the Port of Trondheim takes steps towards achieving significant emissions cuts in the maritime industry. Let's celebrate these milestones in sustainable port development and continue driving positive change in the maritime industry! #Enova #Fjuel #Sustainability #MaritimeElectrification #GreenPorts #EmissionsReduction Foto: Tromsø Havn

The Government of South Australia and Zero Petroleum have announced a joint commitment to assess the development of a low-carbon sustainable aviation fuel production facility ‘Plant Zero. SA’ in Whyalla. The feasibility study includes collaboration with an aviation industry consortium led by Adelaide Airport Limited and Qantas Airways. Zero Petroleum, a leading producer of synthetic fuel, visited Whyalla earlier this year and is exploring the opportunity for a commercial-scale production plant to be located in South Australia’s Upper Spencer Gulf. The six-month project will evaluate the technical, economic, and environmental viability of a facility capable of producing up to 10 million litres of synthetic aviation fuel, gasoline and diesel annually. This initiative supports the aviation industry’s global commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
