We are pleased to announce the official launch of a collaborative agreement with ocean services provider, DeepOcean, to supply vessel-based well plugging and abandonment services to the global decommissioning market.
Characterised by a “one team” approach, the single contract solution offers a turnkey service including equipment, planning, execution and close-out, leaving a full audit trail to ensure optimum repurpose and reuse of retrieved assets.
The partnership commenced with a recently-completed, agile multi-well vessel-based P&A campaign on behalf of Serica Energy plc, which resulted in significant time and cost-savings, and reduced CO2 impact, when compared with rig-based P&A activity.
Bart Van De Laar, Exceed’s Head of Decommissioning said: “By pairing DeepOcean’s diverse global fleet and vessel management capabilities with EXCEED's specialist range of well decommissioning expertise, the international decom sector benefits from a world-class vessel-based well P&A service. Forged in the North Sea, we look forward to continuing this relationship by commencing a further multi-client, multi-well campaign later this year and taking this offering overseas in the coming years.”
Robin Mawhinney CEng FCMI, Managing Director DeepOcean UK comments: “DeepOcean is delighted to enter into this collaborative agreement with EXCEED that we believe will deliver significant time and cost benefits to the international decommissioning sector.
“EXCEED’s significant track record and internationally recognised reputation in the well decommissioning space, blended with our own track record, our versatile global fleet and subsea engineering expertise allows this partnership to build on our first collaborative project on behalf of Serica Energy to deliver safe and efficient offshore operations to our clients both here in the North Sea and further afield. We look forward to working together with our clients to further develop multi-well, multi-client campaigns in due course that will bring significant cost and time savings within this sector.”
Olaf Alexander Hansen, Managing Director DeepOcean Europe adds: “We look forward to working together with EXCEED to deliver cost-effective solutions to our client base within the Norwegian sector. Our complementary service offerings are already proven to provide a comprehensive, best in class, solution to well decommissioning and we are excited about developing this relationship further.”
