“Your father's business is so old-school. You need to modernize!” Growing up, I saw my dad run a successful B2B business, and I’ve realized that some of the things he did back then still work for me today—even in a modern brand like Neutraleaf. Here are a few lessons I’ve picked up from him: 1️⃣ It’s all about relationships My dad didn’t need fancy presentations or big pitch decks. He built trust over simple conversations—often with a cup of chai or coffee. I’ve seen this work for me too. Just last quarter, a friendly LinkedIn chat turned into a big business deal. Whether it’s online or offline, real connections always matter. 2️⃣ A promise is a promise My dad had one golden rule: always keep your word. If he promised delivery on Friday, it was done on Friday—no delays, no excuses. I apply this in my business too. Clear communication and delivering what I promise have helped me build trust with my clients. 3️⃣ Think long-term Quick money comes and goes. My dad always believed in playing the long game, and that stuck with me. For example, a client who ghosted me for months is now one of my biggest accounts. Staying patient and building steady relationships really pays off. 4️⃣ Know your chain My dad knew everyone in his supply chain—from suppliers to end users. He believed understanding the whole process was key to success. I’ve adopted the same approach, whether it’s through CRMs or Zoom calls. While the tools we use today—like automation and LinkedIn—might be new, the core principles haven’t changed. At the heart of it all are trust, relationships, and consistency.

I love the "promise is a promise" principle, so powerful for building trust. How do you ensure reliability and consistency with your remote teams while maintaining this level of accountability?
