Microsoft has recently announced two updates that may have an impact on your licencing costs: -> From April 1, 2024, Microsoft will introduce a new selection of M365 and Office 365 suites excluding Teams, as well as offering a standalone Teams package. The pricing for the 'no Teams' E1, E3, and E5 licenses is lower, however, if you opt to add Teams Enterprise features, you can expect a combined price increase of approximately NZ$4.80 per user, per month. Further details can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dxUEmVjb -> Microsoft have also announced price increases for Dynamics 365, refer to the official update here: https://lnkd.in/dNWeTSNd These updates will add extra financial pressure on a number of organisations in the current economic environment. It's important to plan ahead for upcoming renewals, consider the impact of these changes and explore options to optimise.

In October 2023, Microsoft made changes to Office 365 and Microsoft 365 licenses for any organizations in the EEA and Switzerland. Essentially, these changes removed Teams from certain suites for business who had never purchased Office/Microsoft 365 before. Now, from April 1, 2024 those changes are extended to the rest of the world, described by Microsoft in an article here. In essence, the news is the same as for the EEA and Switzerland, so here’s the summary: Any business outside the EEA and Switzerland who has not purchased Office 365 E1/E3/E5 or Microsoft 365 E3/E5 before April 1, 2024 must now buy “(no Teams)" SKUs - which, as the names suggest, don't include Teams. If you want Teams, then you would need to additionally purchase a separate Teams Enterprise User SL for their users. If you have purchased any of the original licenses before April 1, 2024 then you can add more licenses and renew existing Subscriptions. Alternatively, you can buy the new licenses, and even mix and match them with the new licenses if you want to. For Microsoft 365 Business Basic/Standard/Premium, customers in the affected regions will be able to choose the original offerings that include Teams or the new (no Teams) flavors. The same goes for Microsoft 365 F1/F3 and Office 365 F3. Please reach out to me if you have any questions and I can help you right size your Microsoft licensing at bwilliams@velosio.com.

Pricing Updates for Microsoft 365 are coming on 1 April 2025 Microsoft have announced changes to Microsoft 365 licencing which will come into effect for new subscription from 1 April 2025. The highlights are: - Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available with a monthly payment option on the annual commitments, at a 5% price premium on the annual payment option. - All Microsoft 365 licences currently purchased on an annual term with monthly payments will have a 5% price increase. - Microsoft Teams Phone Standard will have its first price increase since the inception of the standalone plans to reflect the innovation provided by this native solution. These changes add further complexity to making sure you get the best value licencing for your business. Annual commitments with an upfront payment provides the lowest cost, but least flexibility. Monthly commitments provide the most flexibility but the highest cost. Neither is inherently better than the other, its what fits your business need that is important. Our team can help you navigate your Microsoft 365 licencing so you get the best value for your business, letting you focus on your business goals. #itstrategy #microsoft365 #microsoft #itsupport

🚀 Exciting news from the Microsoft ecosystem! 🚀 Realignment of global licensing for Microsoft 365 As active co-creators in the SaaS area of Microsoft Teams, we inform about the separation of Microsoft 365 and Teams - a change without impact on existing subscriptions, but with new licensing requirements for customers outside EEA/Switzerland. Existing customers can continue to use their subscriptions as usual and have the option to switch to a suite without Teams or add standalone Teams versions upon renewal. New business customers outside the EEA and Switzerland will now need to purchase two separate licenses to take advantage of both Microsoft Teams and the corresponding Microsoft 365 or Office 365 suites. If you would like more information on Microsoft's realignment, take a look at the following articles: Ruling global alignment from 01.04.24: https://lnkd.in/ex4FQw3d Ruling on adjustments to the European subscriber model from 31.08.23: https://lnkd.in/eJnd2yFw #timeghost #microsoftteams #microsoft365 #microsoft

There is big change worldwide to customers. Microsoft has revised global licensing for Microsoft 365: Europe Economic Area (EEA) and No Teams. Last year Microsoft updated the way Microsoft 365, Office 365, and Teams were licensed in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. Now Microsoft is announcing our plan to extend that approach worldwide. Globally consistent licensing helps ensure clarity for customers and streamline decision making and negotiations. To that end, Microsoft updating the way Microsoft 365, Office 365, and Teams are licensed outside of Europe in keeping with the recent changes in the EEA. Starting today, Microsoft is introducing 1) a new lineup of commercial Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites that do not include Teams in regions outside the EEA and Switzerland, and 2) a new standalone Teams offering for Enterprise customers in those regions. As in the EEA and Switzerland, customers with existing subscriptions that include Microsoft Teams will be able to continue using plans they have already chosen. Additional details follow below. 📣 Licensing News from Microsoft! In August 2023, Microsoft announced that it would be unbundling the Teams app in the EU and Switzerland in October 2023. The reason? This was due to successful lobby pressure in the EU by competing products Slack and Zoom who argued that its inclusion challenged competition laws and the EU agreed. This change did not effect users the UK as we a re no longer in the EU, however, Microsoft have now announced that this will apply worldwide as of 1st April 2024. Newly created tenants can choose with Microsoft 365 (or Office 365) to include or exclude Teams. At this moment in time, the changes only affect the Microsoft 365 plans for the Business, Enterprise, and Frontline versions of Microsoft 365. ***Important*** Consumer (home), Academic, US Government, and Nonprofit editions of Microsoft 365 aren’t changing today and will still bundle Teams as they did before. This is corporate only but this may change in the future. https://lnkd.in/ePC2eJnS Current Office/Microsoft 365 Enterprise customers who want to keep using the Office apps and Teams together can continue to subscribe to both at their current prices. New subscribers to the Enterprise versions of Microsoft 365/Office 365 can pay £4.30 per user/per month (annual NCE MRRP shown) for Teams, whether they’re buying Teams as standalone software or adding it on top of a Teams-free Office/Microsoft 365 subscription. For the Business and Frontline Microsoft 365 versions, you can either buy the version with Teams included for the same price as before, or choose a new Teams-less option that will save you a couple of pounds per user per month. For example, the Teams-less version of Microsoft 365 Business Standard costs £8.40 per user per month, compared to £10.30 (annual NCE MRRP shown) for the version that includes Teams. More news as we know more as this came a little out of the blue I will be honest. Stay tuned for more updates! #MicrosoftTeams #Office365 #Microsoft365 I hope this helps! Can confirm it's not an April Fools joke, Microsoft are indeed removing Teams from all Enterprise corporate Microsoft & Office 365 plans starting yesterday 😲 The key points are: 1. Microsoft is extending the licensing changes made in the EEA and Switzerland to be globally consistent. This includes a new lineup of commercial Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites without Teams for regions outside the EEA and Switzerland, and a new standalone Teams offering for Enterprise customers. 2. Those with current subscriptions that include Teams can continue as usual or switch to the new lineup at their contract anniversary or renewal. 3. New subscribers outside the EEA and Switzerland will need to purchase separate SKUs for Microsoft 365 or Office 365 suites without Teams and for Microsoft Teams Enterprise. 4. The changes do not affect customers in the EEA and Switzerland, nor Consumer, Academic, US Government, or Nonprofit suites. 5. Frontline and Business suites will now have two options. Suites that include Teams and those that don’t. I would highly recommend reading through the official announcement linked below to get all the dates of the changes or reach out to me if you have any questions. #crayon #microsoft #teams
