National Trust of Australia (NSW)’s Post

It’s wonderful to see the expanded state heritage listing for the Powerhouse Museum Ultimo, which now includes the Wran Building, the Galleria and the Harwood Building. The listing acknowledges the importance of the site, not only for its original uses as a power station and tram depot, but also as a museum.  The National Trust (NSW) supports the listing and has long advocated for the Powerhouse to be maintained as a museum dedicated to the applied arts and sciences. We will continue to advocate for the revitalisation of the museum to be guided by the heritage significance of the site.
