🌟 New Research Paper Alert 🌟 💕 The ACCESS-TAVI trial reveals promising results for vascular closure in transfemoral TAVI. CIRT-FR is the first CIRSE-sponsored study mandated to support the French ministry of health (HAS) in evaluating the decision of reimbursement renewal of SIR-Spheres yttrium-90 (Y90) resin microspheres in France. Data on the real-life clinical practice of TARE Y90 using SIR-Spheres in patients with primary and secondary liver tumours, as well as safety, effectiveness, and quality of life data, were collected. MSCA-ITN DIALECT at DFSG • Diabetic Foot Study Group Conference 2024 in Valencia, Spain 🇪🇸. We are excited to share another success story from #DFSG2024. Our doctoral candidate Victoria Milbourn presented her study on the “Prognostic Value of Peak Plantar Pressure for Remission of Charcot Neuro-Osteoarthropathy (CNO)” in the annual DFSG conference. Her study aimed to understand how peak plantar pressure (PPP) influences remission times in CNO, a condition that affects many people with diabetes. By analyzing plantar pressures in 17 participants using the Emed-X system, she along with her colleagues have discovered a moderate association between PPP in the lateral mid-foot and slower remission, with a threshold of 141 kPa identified as a potential prognostic marker for delayed recovery. 🦶 While we didn’t find strong correlations across all foot regions, the moderate association in the lateral mid-foot suggests important clinical insights that could help improve prognosis and treatment strategies for CNO.
