It's been such an exciting few months for recruitment at Mysa! We've filled some major positions with incredibly talented individuals that are going to help scale our growth. 🚀 Throughout the recruitment process for these senior level positions, we've had some great takeaways: 1. LinkedIn is a powerful tool for sourcing. It gives you a refined searching tool to have access to a large pool of passive candidates. 💻 2. Keep your mind open for future opportunties that great candidates can fill. Sometimes a five star candidate may not be the right fit for one position, but you know they would be such a great asset on your team. 🤔 3. Always tailor your recruitment efforts to best suit each position (ie: understanding the best return for paid posting outlets). ✅ 4. Dive into data analytics and understand how to interpret or adjust the process from the results (Kudos to Jeremy Grimes for this). 📊 5. Create a genuine connection from the start with all candidates. Recruitment is all about making sure the candidate is the best fit for your team - if you create a genuine, transparent relationship from the start, you'll organically begin to have a deeper understanding of culture fit, alongside technicality. 🤝 It's been a pleasure to be a part of the process of hiring these amazing new team members. They have brought an excitement to our team given their level of knowledge, expertise and drive to make a difference. 🙌 Here's to an exciting year!

As I stand at the cusp of a new chapter, I want to take a moment to reflect on my journey as the Head of Customer Success and warmly embrace my upcoming role as AVP, Strategic Accounts. Wow, what a ride it's been in my last role. It pushed me to my limits, taught me to bounce back, and really hammered home how crucial it is to keep relationships at the forefront of everything. Every chat, every bit of feedback, and every planning session really deepened my grasp on putting our customers first. I've picked up a ton of insights along the way, but the biggies would have to be the magic of really listening, getting creative with solutions, and always leading with a bit of kindness. These lessons have been gold, touching both my work and personal life. Now, stepping into the new shoes, I'm bringing all those lessons with me, plus a whole lot of buzz for what's coming. This new spot is all about getting even closer to what our clients need, coming up with innovative ideas, and pushing growth through solid partnerships. I'm all in and can't wait to use what I've learned to really make a splash. I've got to shout out to my team and work pals - Chirag Damani, Nancy Suryavanshi, Sohum Tanksali, Shikha Sheel Madaan, Allen Brown, BVM Anirudh, my superstar CSMs. Your support, and team spirit have been everything. The wins we've racked up in Customer Success didn't just boost our company; they've set me up to jump into this new challenge with all guns blazing. As I step into this new role, that old saying rings true - the only constant is change. This shift is a mix of sweet and sour, but it's all about moving forward and soaking up new lessons. I'm diving into this with all the energy and dedication I've always had, pumped for the new roads we'll travel and the peaks we'll conquer together. I wanted to be a VP sales. I chased the title. Before that role I had an AE role before where I was earning way more as an OTE. I hadn’t been a sales leader before. And I thought that was what progression looked like. Looking back I probably would have stayed as an AE for a little longer. Because I jumped into a role without upskilling properly. And it meant I went from being an excellent AE to an average VP. I wasn’t building the sales playbooks and wasn’t building repeatability. Instead I was trying to trying to create mini me’s through my lack of experience! So my learnings are not chase title for the sake of it. It’s better to stay and do the thing you are excellent at. It’s ok to stick at what you love doing. Looking back I probably would have been better off: 1. Staying as a successful IC for longer. or 2. Starting a business sooner. But I'm grateful for all the executive level experience I gained before setting up a business and I LOVE what I do now! What would you do differently in your career if you had the time again?

My career changed when I stopped thinking, “How do I get my buyer to the next stage in our sales process?” Instead, I asked: “What does my buyer need from me to get to the next stage in their buying process?” This doesn’t mean I’m opposed to sales process. I love sales process. I think the way to best support your buyer is understanding sales process so well that you can easily adapt based on their needs. And that adapting may lead to breaking some “rules.” You might give pricing earlier than your VP recommends. Maybe you do a bit of a demo on the first call. Supporting your buyer on their journey won’t always map perfectly back to your sales process and the documented “order of operations.” But I’d rather break some rules and win rather than follow them and lose. I’ve been obsessed with finding the balance of sales process and buyer journey for several years. Along the way, I’ve documented everything that I’ve found work (and not work!) so that I can easily teach my teams. I’ve also found these lessons to be helpful outside of the organizations I lead. I feel incredibly fortunate that well over 4,000 sellers have applied these Frameworks to sell more, and I’m looking forward to supporting thousands more.
