Org transformation is like home renovation. You’re not building a house off someone else’s blueprint. You’re creating customized changes tailored to your org’s unique goals, assets, and structure. 🛠️🏡 For that reason, there’s no off-the-shelf solution that can substitute for custom consulting. You can’t copy the movements of peer organizations, or derive your plan from something you learned in a book or at a seminar. There is no preexisting map for your transformation, because your org culture, structure and value proposition are unique. Yes, there are general principles and inspirations you can glean from how other orgs have done it in the past. But when it comes time to start knocking out beams and replacing the floors, you want contractors, designers and architects who understand your particular goals, and can tailor a plan to the needs of your unique organization. Got your own tough DIY lesson to share, about org transformation or home repair? Either way I’d love to hear it. #transformation #consulting #changemanagement #digitaltransformation #leadership

Pausing is not something we do easily in construction. Reflection, just as difficult. We have an industry bias of 'doing' over 'thinking' and a tendency to seek external validation. But pausing, reflecting, and journaling can provide invaluable data about your career journey. Start small. Take ten minutes a week to ask yourself: What are my wins this week? What has been my challenge this week? What did I learn this week? Where did I work above and beyond my role? What feedback have I received? As this habit grows, expand your journaling to track your strategic career goals, who you meet, CPDs attended, values, stress levels, strengths, skills, and reflections on work scenarios. Journaling can significantly boost your confidence, reduce stress, and help you recognise patterns that hold you back. Give it a try. Start a weekly 10-minute reflection habit. 📝✨ PS: Join the many architects, designers, and construction professionals in developing a regular habit of reflection and intention by getting the Architect's Leadership Journal this summer - https://buff.ly/42CF6Mb #ArchitectsLeadershipJournal #SleepinggaintCoaching #SleepingGiantConsulting #CoachingArchitects #Architects #Architecture #WomeninArchitecture #Leadership #Journalling #Planner #ReflectionMatters

Do you choose your clients? Or do your clients choose you? Ideally, it's a mutual decision that both parties empower. Frequently, architects work with clients because they need the money and the work. NOT because the client is a good fit and aligned with the architects' principals and vision. Imagine being secure enough to be picky about who you work with and under what conditions... Imagine clients choosing to work with you because they share your values, appreciate your talent, and want what you have to bring to the relationship - regardless of the cost. This sort of freedom starts at home. Knowing who you are, what you stand for, what you have to offer. Knowing what kind of work sources you and what kind of professional relationships you want to foster. Once you've got that firm foundation of self-knowledge it becomes a lot easier to seek, find and attract clients who want the same thing. What structures do you have in place to make that happen? How well do you know yourself...really? How often do you compromise on what you truly want? I'd love to hear how you choose your clients intentionally! #coachingforarchitects #architects #architecture #coaching #businesscoaching #leadership #designalifeyoulove #blueprintforlivingcoaching
