Violence against women doesn’t stop at physical boundaries—it extends into digital spaces and impacts millions worldwide. Yet, 55 % of countries lack laws prohibiting discrimination against women and less than half of the global population of women are protected by laws against cyber harassment. On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the EQUALS - The Global Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age calls on governments, tech companies, and civil society to strengthen efforts in combating technology-facilitated gender-based violence. Let’s come together to end violence against women in all its forms. A safe digital world is a more equal one. #InternationalDayToEndViolence #EQUALS

🌍 Today, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, EQUALS - The Global Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age stands together to address technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV). 🔶 In 22 countries, 58% of young women and girls aged 15-25 have experienced online harassment (Goulds, 2020). 🔶85 per cent of women globally who spend time online have witnessed TFGBV against other women (The Economist Intelligence Unit, 2021). 🔶Concerns about safety and security are a key barrier preventing women in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) from adopting mobile internet, and the main barrier to continued use (GSMA, 2024). At #EQUALS, the Access Coalition (of which Audiopedia Foundation is a member) is committed to bridging the digital gender divide by promoting safe, inclusive and empowering online environments for all women and girls. Today, let's reaffirm our commitment to ending violence against women in all its forms - both offline and online. A call for reflection! 💔1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime. 💔 1 in 4 adolescent girls are abused by their partners. 💔 For thousands of women, the cycle of gender-based violence ended with one final and brutal act-their murder by partners and family members. 💔 Femicide rates are rising. The crisis of gender-based violence is urgent. These numbers tell us about lives and realities of women whose potential is stiffled by violence and discrimination. Given these truths, take time to reflect on these realities. What is your role in all this? "The goal of the 16 days of activism is to create a global platform that highlights the need for gender equality and for the elimination of violence against women in all its forms, both at home and work place. It serves as a powerful reminder that violence against women is not just a private issue but a widespread social challenge that demands systemic change" (ILO). Let us unite to End Violence Against Women and Girls. The time to act is now! Gracious Solutions is calling everyone to seriously reflect and resolve to take action. We are all responsible for what our world is becoming. #EndGenderBasedViolence! #ActNow #NoExcuse #UnitetoEndViolence! #inspiringalifeofimpact #gracioussolutions

Today marks 35 years since the tragic mass shooting in Quebec, a heartbreaking event that claimed innocent lives and left a lasting impact on families and communities. As we remember the victims, especially the women who were targeted, we are reminded of the systemic issues that contribute to gender-based violence. This anniversary calls us to reflect not only on the tragedy itself but also on the ongoing fight for gender equality, women’s rights, and the dismantling of toxic masculinity. The events of that day underscore the need for continued efforts to create spaces where women are safe, valued, and heard—both in society and in the workplace. As we honor the memory of those lost, let us renew our commitment to building a future where violence against women is no longer tolerated and where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. #NeverForget #GenderEquality #WomenInLeadership #EndGenderBasedViolence #strongertogether #mominsecurity #securityprofessional #webelonghere

🚨 Don't buy into the myth that violence against women is inevitable or unsolvable! 🚨 Violence against women isn't an unavoidable fate; it's a result of deep-rooted attitudes and norms that can be changed. We CAN end it by challenging gender stereotypes and promoting a culture of respect and equality in every aspect of society. Here's what we can do to make a difference: 1️⃣ Educate ourselves and others about gender equality and healthy relationships. 2️⃣ Speak up against sexism and discrimination whenever we encounter it. 3️⃣ Support survivors and advocate for their rights and safety. 4️⃣ Promote programs and initiatives that empower women and girls. 5️⃣ Hold perpetrators accountable for their actions and work to prevent future violence. Together, we can create a world where violence against women is a thing of the past. Let's stand up, speak out, and take action to build a safer and more equitable future for all. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #GenderEquality #RespectAndEquality
