Dr. Frankline Matanji and Dr. Melissa Tully published "Stakeholder perceptions of regulatory responses to misinformation in Kenya and Senegal" in Journalism: Theory, Practice and Criticism. While misinformation is prevalent in Africa, there's a limited understanding of how stakeholders perceive responses to misinformation to address its spread. After conducting 46 interviews with media professionals and other stakeholders from Kenya and Senegal, they found divergent perceptions of what regulatory interventions are needed to slow the spread of misinformation. William’s innovation didn't just light up his home; it sparked a movement that illuminated his entire community. Similarly, fearless journalists in Nigeria, by uncovering important stories, have sparked national conversations and driven meaningful change. William’s story is a reminder of what’s possible when we harness our creativity and resilience.
