Just finished the course “CISSP Cert Prep (2021): The Basics” by Mike Chapple!

Overcoming Setbacks: How I Passed ISC2's CGRC Exam on My Second Attempt Earlier this year, I faced a tough moment—failing the CGRC exam. As someone who’s always excelled in school and certification tests, it was a humbling experience. With less than 1.5 years experience in IT and GRC, I found the coursework and exam challenging. However, I refused to let that stop me. Thankfully, my employer had purchased instructor-led training through ISC2, which included an education guarantee—allowing me to retake the class. Although I had to pay for a second exam attempt (tip: buy the peace of mind voucher if you're preparing for this exam!), I was determined to pass. Here’s the study plan that helped me succeed the second time: 1. Study NIST RMF inside and out—especially the steps, tasks, and roles. 2. Use quizzes (I liked Quizlet) to drill down key terms. 3. Get familiar with other frameworks like COBIT, ISO 27000, and HIPAA. 4. Take as many practice tests as possible—CyberFirstAcademy’s CGRC course was especially helpful for NIST material. It wasn’t easy, but with daily focus, I passed! To anyone facing similar challenges, remember: persistence pays off. You got this! I've gotten a few inquiries about what I used to study for the #CISSP exam and thought I'd share what helped me. 1. The official (ISC)2 #CISSP study guide with online test bank practice questions. I read the entire book also answered all the test questions in the test bank. 2. Pete Zerger 🔐☁️ has some great videos one in particular I've watched about 3 times https://lnkd.in/gCasb3kV he also has a video specific to the quantative formulas which helped immensely as well. 4. Jason Dion I watched his course in Udemy for CASP+ the material he covers in granular detail and is similar to CISSP in terms of content. Hope this helps!
