"These interviews feel a bit too easy." Our candidate who was interviewing with a foundation model co told us this. What? The interview process was rigourous. Numerous great candidates were getting stymied at the final round. The role called for an exceptional array of skills, all with deep, deep expertise. When we do our screens upfront, we try and go more indepth than other recruiting firms. Teasing out the sizzle and "what makes you exceptional" attributes is always key. But as candidates advance in a process, the additional signals come out. And this is one we rarely hear, but often are a mark of truly exceptional talent. And you're probably wondering -- did they sign? Heck yes. 💪
Always looking for signals that folks know what they're doing. It strikes me that a good post-tech-assessment interview question in a hiring process would be, "How would you change our tech assessment in a way that would even better enable you to show your strengths?" I'd love to be a fly on the wall for this candidate's answer.
Love this story. :)
