🚀 Day 1 Recap of the 8th Annual Operational Excellence & Business Transformation Summit in Orlando! 💡 Dr. Keith A. Clinkscales, eMBA, LSS BB got us started with his presentation, "Culture Will Eat Strategy for Breakfast" -Before you implement any changes, make sure people are ready. -Build relationships before addressing problems (R before I). -Culture is the foundation of success: Leaders develop the culture, which shapes employee experiences, which then impacts customer experiences—and that’s what drives business results. 💡 Adam B. Schreiber delivered a compelling session on human-centric change with some practical wisdom, including -Leaders must sponsor change and be vocal about it. -Change management is a balance between art (understanding why people care) and science (the modeling and technical aspects). -Change starts at the top but is felt the most at the bottom, highlighting the importance of sponsorship and support at all levels. 💡 Ruben Del Toro, MBA, PMP, MBB emphasized the importance of building a strong operational excellence program. -Every successful program starts with a clear strategy. -It's not just about processes—it's about the people who drive those processes. 💡 Yours truly, Shane Wentz, PhD Wentz, led a session on Mastering Organizational Transformation. -Transformation is challenging, but with a well-defined framework, it's achievable. -The framework consists of three phases: Evaluate, Execute, Sustain. 💡 Karl Parker focused on aligning strategy and transformation through business process management. -He shared the “5 P’s” framework for business excellence: Products/Services, People, Processes, Plant/Technology, and Performance. 💡 Anthony Brunshtein reminded us that operational excellence is about striving for excellence, not perfection. -Celebrate progress, and don’t be afraid to fail—as long as you learn from it. -Encourage your teams to be OK with failure, and foster a culture of support and collaboration. 💡 Jennifer Byrkit brought us up to speed on harnessing Generative AI for non-specialists. -Generative AI can process inputs and create powerful outputs through AI models. -She shared her go-to tools for AI-driven transformation, including ChatGPT, Claude, Canva, and Otter.ai. 💡 Ramya Venkataraman spoke about Fueling Success Through Lean Business Systems. -She emphasized using KPIs, transformation success, and culture shifts to measure corporate performance. -Continuous improvement relies on four key elements: Process, Data, People, and Tools/Technology. Main takeaway for me today was that Business transformation requires a people-first approach, an emphasis on culture, and the right balance of strategy and execution. #OperationalExcellence #BusinessTransformation #Leadership #LeanTransformation #AI #ContinuousImprovement #CultureMatters #LeadershipInAction #ConferenceRecap #continuousimprovement #lean #leansixsigma #leadership #CEO #management #selfhelp #acilconsulting
