So much good information packed into this report. Not sure how many labs document rationale for inclusion of genes on their panels, but seems like a good practice, especially with slice tests! Thanks Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and National Society of Genetic Counselors! #genetictesting
'Slice' testing, a common practice where multiple gene panel tests are carved out of an exome/genome backbone, offers several economic and logistical advantages to labs. Having appropriate gene content, coverage and quality are key to ensuring analytical and clinical validity of slice tests. These guidelines from Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) / College of American Pathologists (CAP) / National Society of Genetic Counselors are a great resource for labs bringing slice tests on board. https://lnkd.in/gBiywPa9 #ngs #genetictesting
