Is your D2C brand in a tight cash position? Wanna know how much cash you need over the next 90 days? Here’s how to estimate that: Cash + A/R - A/P - Loans - Dividends + EBITDA —- Cash = bank account now A/R = any in-transit funds (Shopify deposits) or debtors (wholesale customers) A/P = credit cards, tax liabilities, inventory due, vendors due Loans = repayment (principal + interest) Dividends = distributions or owner withdrawals EBITDA = Revenue - Variable Costs - Fixed Costs —- Positive figure -> cash surplus -> you don’t need extra capital. Negative figure -> cash deficit -> this is how much capital you need. —- Apply the formula to whichever timeframe. E.G. for a 60-day cash deficit, consider A/P due, dividends and EBITDA projections within 60 days. Now go estimate your cash needs.
