Such was the promise of the garden park and castle of Hesdin in northern France. Every part of it was meticulously engineered for awe. But it was more than a display of wealth and power: it was an entire world of its own, a space where nature and the wonders of technology came together in a spectacular vision of paradise lost and reimagined. In next week's talk, Sven Gins will explore our timeless urge to recreate paradise on Earth.
