The new capital will be deployed to support early-stage startups, particularly those founded by Israeli entrepreneurs, as they scale and expand into the US market. To get seed investment, identify a constant challenge that - if solved in a reliably repeatable way - can result in 100m ARR = 1bn exit valuation in 7-10yrs. The math is unforgiving. VC funding is not for every startup. Read Maiken Paaske's behind the scenes explanations. The implications on buyers' cost, time and risk make your business case. Not the beauty of your tech. Your tech is the necessary means to that end. Not the end in itself. Ideally, observable trends make that identified market challenge occur even more often with amplified consequences possibly for adjacent topics. Demonstrating this understanding, underpinned with facts, makes the difference.

Venture capital is like buying call options on startups. In both, you take on high risk with limited downside and the potential for unlimited upside. VC has an ~80% “default rate,” but the few breakout successes can more than make up for the losses. Just like buying a call option, where you profit if the stock price rises above the strike price, VC investors profit when a startup becomes a massive success. The mechanics are strikingly similar. From now on, I’ll tell people: Venture capital is call options on startups. They’re basically twins! Read my blog post to learn how this idea came about.
