Avoid ❌these 3 mistakes as a freelancer: While talking to potential freelancers certain things make me stop talking to some of them regardless of their skills. I hope this post helps some of you get more replies for your pitches: 📌Approach with work samples/pitch deck/CV directly: When I post a gig, I’m on the lookout for your portfolio. Don’t ask for permission to send what I’m already expecting. Cut to the chase and present your best work upfront. 📂 (even when approaching a month only job) 📌Communicate on client’s preferred channel: If you’ve received details from me on WhatsApp, why will you ask me for the same details over email? Why will I take the effort and not just award the gig to someone who didn’t act so snobbish. Keep the conversation where it started and save us both some time. 📱 📌Understand the brief thoroughly: Before you hit ‘send’ on your query, ensure you’ve digested every detail of the project brief. Asking what the product is when I have included 6 links to it in the brief means you didn’t take the time to visit even a single one. It’s a testament to your professionalism and saves precious time. 📖 The points mentioned above are nothing new. These are sales 101. As a freelancer you are selling your services, make it easier for me to buy.

How to find unlimited freelance clients? How to find your first client? How to earn your first 100 dollars? Stop Finding ways to find clients, Honestly speaking You don’t need to find even a single client. You have heard from a lot of people telling you on the internet to do this, do that, go on Google Maps, do cold calls and emails, GO on Linkedin, and use this AI toll to get emails from Instagram and Twitter. Build your Brand. But only a few tell you that, you have to master a skillset before getting your first client and first $. Stop running toward the money, run towards experience and skills first. No matter your age, you must go through that grinding phase to get your first client. Keep this in mind, Come out of that trap of Self-obsession I know this I know that, I have this skill I have mastered that skill, You don’t know anything You don’t have mastered a single skill properly. If you have mastered a skill you were not searching those videos, You will automatically get a Client. As a freelancer, I went from making 11,000 rupees a month to a big 1.5 lakh, thanks to my clients from other countries. Getting there wasn't simple. At first, I was scared. I was worried about my accent, the time difference, and not having any past work to show to international clients. But I found a way around these problems. I focused on the quality of my work, knowing that good work speaks louder than words. To help, we published a few books for free, which helped people learn about us and our skills. We also spent time understanding what the audience in the US likes. We looked at our competitors to see what they do well, which helped us to improve. So, if you're a freelancer and you're finding it hard to get clients from other countries, here are some tips: 📍Believe in your skills. You are good enough! 📍Build a portfolio that shows you can work with anyone, anywhere. 📍Learn about your audience. What do they like? What do they need? 📍Be patient. Have you ever crafted a proposal so good, you knew was pure gold, sent it off with high hopes and a sense of excitement, only to be met with... complete and utter silence, leaving you to wonder, "Does my work even deserve the courtesy of a response, or was it just a shot in the dark?" This is the frustration of dealing with unresponsive clients! And as a freelancer, I've been there too. It's like, you're excited to work on a project, you've sent over the proposal, and... crickets. No response. No feedback. No nothing. Worse still, you hop on the first few lines of chat, gets a go ahead and then the ghosting. First, take a deep breath and don't take it personally. It's common for clients to get busy or overwhelmed. But, as a freelancer, your time is valuable, and you need to know how to handle these situations. Here's what works for me: 1. Follow up politely: Send a gentle nudge, reiterating your interest in working together. Keep it brief and friendly. 2. Set clear expectations: In your initial proposal or contract, outline your communication expectations. This way, clients know what to expect from you and vice versa. 3. Don't over-invest: Be cautious not to spend too much time or energy on a project without a clear green light from the client. 4. Move on: If the client remains unresponsive, it's okay to move on to other projects or prospects. Your time is valuable, and you deserve to work with clients who respect that. 5. Learn and adjust: Use this experience to refine your client onboarding process or communication strategy. Identify any red flags or areas for improvement. Remember, as a freelancer, you're running a business. Be professional, patient, and proactive, but also prioritize your own needs and time.

Beginner freelancers, you will get no clients if you don't do this Spend Your first 1-2 years gaining experience. That's it. no experience=0 clients. Clients need proof of success. If you don't have proof of success, then no one can trust you with their money. How do you gather proof of success? Build social proof. Could be a YouTube channel, social media following, previous client testimonials etc .. All these are tips I use, and I would be very happy if another freelancer succeeds in their career after using them. Peace.

It helps you sound professional, gain expert image, and obviously not feel lost or small when you encounter a specialist. Recently, I received 5 DMs asking me meaning of certain words, with 'Lead' & 'Overhead costs' being prominent. Today, I'm sharing some intermediate to advanced level professional terms commoly used in freelance industry. Here we go... ➡️ Billable Hours Time spent on task for which you charge a particular amount ➡️ Churn Rate Percentage of clients you lose ➡️ Pitch A concise proposal sent to client highlighting your offerings & solutions they may expect ➡️ Deliverables Services or results you deliver to client by the deadline ➡️ Contract An official document highlighting terms and conditions of collaboration between you and client ➡️ Retainer An agreement in which freelancer receives regular payment (monthly) to stay available and do a specific amount of work whenever client needs. *Freelancer don't get paid on project basis. ➡️ Value Proposition The unique benefit your services promise ➡️ SOW (Scope of Work) Detailed description of work, deadlines, tasks, requirements related to project ➡️ Client Brief Instructions from client regarding the agreed project ➡️ Overhead costs Your regular expenses as a freelancer that aid your business.
