𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲, but it's not a useless term. Content can have many purposes, marketing being just one of them. Marketing has many deliverables, content being just one of them. Therefore, content + marketing is the space where these two overlap. While the term is somewhat insipid, it does convey unique information.
I vote to have "Content Marketing" removed from our vocabulary. It makes no sense. Content is marketing. So every time someone utters the phrase-that-shall-not-be-named, they're just saying they work in Content. The best content marketing is just great content. The best content marketers are just great content creators. Cut the "Marketing."
