I never really had mentors or people to hold me accountable. I was missing such a massive unlock: - Personal goal setting and hitting - Being challenged past my comfort zone - Learning through experiences of others - More potent networks and networking - Support system to the next level My parents didn’t really have the blueprint to succeed in todays world to pass on to me. And it wasn’t for lack of trying or love. I sorta just had to figure it out. Since building RevGenius, I’ve done much better here. Built a network of 45k best friends. So many have helped me so much. They’ve unlocked so much opportunity: advisorships, consulting, revenue, and more. It also got me thirsty for even more connection and more accountability. Celebrate the little wins and build momentum. When I was running my startup, we made a big deal of celebrating milestones, big or small. 🎉 Every new client onboarded 📦 The launch of a new product line 🏆 Even hitting monthly targets We'd gather, share stories, and reflect on our progress. It wasn't about the cake (though that was a plus!). It was about recognizing hard work and feeling valued. These moments recharged our energy and refocused our drive. Celebrating milestones can: • Boost team morale - People feel seen and appreciated. • Foster a sense of accomplishment - Keeps the team motivated. • Drive further success - Builds momentum for the next goal. I remember one instance vividly. We landed a challenging client we'd been pursuing for over six months. It was a team effort. That celebration wasn't just a pat on the back; it was fuel for the next project. It reminded us of our capabilities. So, whether you're hitting major targets or small stepping stones, celebrate. It might seem trivial, but it creates a culture of appreciation and motivation. It's like pausing to catch your breath and then running faster. Small celebrations can lead to big success. Trust me, it's worth it.

Dear SaaStr: Can Someone Still Be a Co-Founder If They Didn’t Help Start the Company? Co-founders are often defined as the couple few folks who sit around the coffee table, dream up the idea, write the first line of code, get the first beta customer, etc. And there really can just be a few. But even that can take some time. And even after that first customer or two, it’s still … early. You can still go find a co-founder if you don’t have a great one yet.  Spenser Skates, CEO of Amplitude, took over 18 months to convince both his co-founders to join. Why Did I Call our founder John Logue call us CHANCE? He explains below... "On my walk this morning, I was listening to a new podcast by Ben Branson, The Hidden 20% (highly recommended, by the way). It occurred to me that after nearly 10 years in the non-alc space, I never knew why Seedlip Drinks was called Seedlip. I’ll let you Google it—it’s pretty cool and now makes sense knowing Ben a bit!! It also made me realise that I’ve never shared why CHANCE Clean Cider is called CHANCE, and I get asked that a lot! The name CHANCE came from three key areas: brand marketing, customer marketing, and a bit of personal founder-driven inspiration. From a BRAND perspective, CHANCE instantly gave me tons of inspiration for content. Whether it’s playing on games of chance, taking a chance, or the butterfly effect that a chance can create, it just felt rich with creative potential. Plus, it’s a great word to say—go on, say it out loud… CHANCE. Fun, right? From a CUSTOMER marketing point of view (which is how I see most things), I wanted something that could be a natural “bar call.” "I'll take a pint of CHANCE" felt like something you could comfortably say in a pub, right? But the deeper meaning came later. It became about the “FOUNDER'S CHANCE.” We all know someone who had a great idea, who said they were going to take the leap, but... never quite did. For me, CHANCE represents making that leap—taking my chance. And so far, I haven't looked back! So, what's the story behind the name of your brand? Or if you don't have one yet, what would you call your million-pound idea?"
