I honestly think most audience does not care wether a film is stop motion, CG or live action. Often, the people making these films forget that the story is everything and at the end of the day stop mo is not a genre but a technique. The biggest studio in stop mo has spent a lot of marketing power on telling people all about how their movies are made. Nobody cares, they just want to see a good story.

I believe the industry knows this too. The facts show that searches for stop motion schools have been steadily rising from the time of Paranorman with a sharp increase after Pinocchio.
