#Quickknowledgepost #thefirstwinesniff After the wine has been swirled, bring the wine up to your nose and just give it a couple of quick sniffs. Sensory professionals call those rabbit sniffs or bunny sniffs. The idea is not to plumb the depths of aromatics of the wine at that point, but merely to see if the wine has any conspicuous problems.

Tavel Rosé vs uhm, Rosé. Huh? There's been a lot of talk about what the wine industry needs to improve on to attract today's drink enthusiast. Other than a serious eneophile, what percentage of people would you say are familiar with and better yet would look for (buy) 3-4 of the varietals above? Those assumptions can be interpreted as "they're not speaking to me" or at worst, a bit smug. A friendly, understood path to purchase is needed to increase wine sales. For instance, I read the Wine Spectator as much to improve my knowledge of the periodic table and obscure food groups as to find wines I'd enjoy. Bring identifiable wines and shopper marketing clarity to the masses! Leave widely unknown varietals and geek speak to the back label and middle pages. PS: I enjoy the Wine Enthusiast weekly and appreciate their good work 👍
Reuben and Tavel rosé is a 🔥 combo. 👀 Which of these combinations do you approve of? 🥪 Get the why behind these wine pairings here 👉️ enth.to/3UvoZg3

According to a recent study by Marks & Spencer, a quarter of wine shoppers spend more than ten minutes deliberating over which bottle to buy. One-third feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices, while more than half admit they don't know which wines they like! Bonkers. The time we take deliberating over what to purchase collectively adds up to more than 50 million squandered hours in a supermarket wine section. That’s exactly why I invented “The List”. My top five recommendations from each supermarket and beyond. The next update lands next week. https://lnkd.in/ehnQAX2U

We all know that adding a little water to whisky will open up the flavour of your dram. Make sure you add the best water - 126 Water from Loch Ness is the purest, natural water to add to your whisky. A recent article from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society was very clear in how it views adding water to whisky. It reads as follows: Some whisky drinkers treat the idea of adding water to their drams as a cardinal sin. But what if we told you that one of the most renowned Tasting Panels on the planet – yep, the big leagues – always sample their whisky with water. Why, you ask? Because it’s like unlocking a hidden treasure trove of flavours! After savouring your whisky neat, a splash of water can set off a flavour explosion you never knew existed. Plus, it’s the magic trick to tone down any boozy fierceness, especially useful with our bold cask strength whiskies. #126Water #LochNess #Whisky #Scotland
