In the Bay Area, offering commuter benefits isn't just smart—it's mandatory. After a pandemic-induced lull, enforcement of the decade-old rule is ramping up again. Jim Wunderman, executive director of the Bay Area Council, emphasizes, "The increase in congestion can negatively impact the Bay Area's economic growth. Alfredo Pedroza, MTC Chair, adds that commuter benefits not only help reduce greenhouse gas emissions but can also save money for both employees and employers. That's where Fleet comes in. We're here to help you: - Save money for both you and your employees - Reduce regional congestion - Cut greenhouse gas emissions Follow us to learn how you can transform your commuter benefits program into a win-win-win for your business, your employees, and the environment! #CommuterBenefits #BayAreaTraffic #SustainableTransportation Full press release: https://lnkd.in/dwZM8DUM

Did you know it is mandatory for employers with 50 or more full-time employees in the Bay Area to register with the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program? Even if an employer offers commuter benefits, to be in compliance with the Bay Area Air District’s Regulations they are required to enroll in the program and update their registration annually. Employers must offer one or more of five types of transit benefits: 1. Pre-tax transit benefits 2. Employer-provided subsidy for transit or vanpooling 3. Employer-provided transit (such as shuttles) 4. Telework one or more days a week 5. A custom plan that includes other modes like bicycling or walking, possibly combined with promotions that encourage alternates to driving alone and more Employers can play a key role in affecting air quality and traffic congestion, both of which have a strong impact on our quality of life and future sustainability. Enrollment in the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program is easy and free by visiting: https://511.org/

The cultural rich and resource abundant lifestyle experience offered by Tier 3 cities and suburbs are unparalleled and unmatched. It is high time corporate should realise as well that shifting offices in Tier 3 cities help nurturing education, foster local economy & talent, and outreach technological connect to deeper pockets of society. There is no sense in loading 10+ offices in a single city and enforcing daily 3-4 hrs of your employee's precious life on work commute. PS: I am not promoting work from home but decongested work location options & distribution of tax collection across the country #RemoteWork #ReturnToOffice #WorkFromHome #Tax #Tier3

Something to consider. The article discusses both the pros and cons of an RTO order, and for people already suffering from a loss of spending power, this is a lot of money to take off the family table. “We also saw that an organization’s decision to require in-office work represents a financial burden for employees. The average employee returning to the office spends $561 per month on transportation, additional child and pet care, and domestic assistance. That is comparable to the average two-person household’s grocery bill in the U.S. for the entire month.” https://lnkd.in/gj99Z5vG
