Great insights from this Next Wave Webinar!
A growing number of VC firms want to take on corporate limited partners that are hands-on investors and who take an active role in collaborating with the VCs and portfolio companies. Here is what we learned about what VCs expect from corporate LPs from a recent webinar we held as part of our The Next Wave series. Thank you to Stephen Marcus at VC firm Emerald, Andy Lubershane at Energy Impact Partners, and Robert Garber at VC 7wireVentures for sharing your thoughts on what makes ideal corporate partners. https://lnkd.in/eWpzCU2U

Really enjoyed taking part in the Global Corporate Venturing webinar on how to make the relationship between VC and Corporate LP a win-win for both. Key takeaways for me are: 1. Corporate LPs and VCs have richer opportunities to ideate on technology areas as well as co-invest and scale companies together. 2. There is immense power in having a corporate platform of LPs for both the LPs and VCs in order to act as a guide to the future of their industries 3. VCs must intentionally set themselves up with programs and services for Corporate LPs so they can extract the strategic value they look for. Take a look at the summary GCV article and recording of the webinar here - https://lnkd.in/eWpzCU2U

How do VCs make decisions? 🧐 This 64-page study by Paul Gompers, Will Gornall, Steven Kaplan, and Ilya Strebulaev is a must-read for VCs. Based on surveys of 850+ VCs at 681 firms, it breaks down decision-making across key areas: - Deal sourcing and investment selection - Valuation and deal structuring - Post-investment value-add and exits - Internal organization and LP relationships Packed with insights like why team quality trumps product or market, and how deal selection drives returns more than post-investment efforts, this is essential for sharpening your edge as a VC. #VentureCapital #InvestorInsights #VCBestPractices
