Ah yes the age-old B2B vs B2C topic. It is always a fascinating topic, at least for me anyway - maybe I'm odd but I love diving into the differences therein which is why I love this piece so much from Mike Maynard for MarTech Mike does a fantastic job at laying out the differences and the likes. My key takeaways for each: ➡️ Difference: B2B purchases have long sales cycles. For the life of me I will never understand why so many B2B brands do not understand this fundamental truth. Look, I get it. We all wish sales cycles went all of 30 seconds. But that is just not the way the B2B cookie crumbles. Accept it. Move on. ➡️ Like: It really is all ‘business-to-human’ - I cannot believe (Yes you can, Steve) that as we wind down the year 2024, we are STILL in need of a reminder as to the MOST obvious fact in the marketing world: There will ALWAYS be a fellow human on the other end of that line. That is until AI starts making purchasing decisions, but until then... please, for the love of all things holy, remember this less-than-news-breaking truth. So, your thoughts? I've had enough of people saying "B2B is just B2Human" and then taking that to mean that B2B is B2C. Yes, of course we market to humans in B2B. But that doesn't mean that B2B and B2C are the same.
