It works by allowing the clutch to partially disengage or "slip" when the engine speed exceeds the wheel speed, reducing the impact of engine braking forces on the rear wheel. This prevents the rear wheel from hopping or skidding, improving stability and control, especially in high-speed corners or rapid deceleration situations. Slipper clutches are commonly found in motorcycles, particularly sportbikes and racing machines, as well as in some high-performance cars. They enhance rider/driver safety and performance by mitigating the effects of aggressive downshifting on vehicle stability. Additionally, slipper clutches can also reduce wear and tear on drivetrain components by minimizing stress on the transmission and rear wheel during rapid deceleration

We recently had the pleasure of detailing this legendary Ford RS200 with a single-stage machine polish @titancoatings PX10. This iconic Group B rally beast, known for its rarity and powerful engineering, deserves nothing less than a pristine finish to match its racing heritage. The rally version of the RS200 could produce over 450 horsepower and specially tuned versions exceeded 600 horsepower. Combined with its all wheel drive system, this made the RS200 one of the most powerful and time rally cars in history, giving it an almost mythical status. The RS200 was Ford’s response to the notoriously intense Group B rally series, which allowed manufacturers to push boundaries in power, technology, and design. Group B produced some of the fastest and most dangerous rally cars, and the RS200 was a standout with its unique mid-engine, all-wheel-drive configuration. We are no experts on rally cars from this Mid 80s but we feel this special vehicle deserved a a few facts to explain some history behind it.
