⚡️Help us sniff out cancer: Now accepting canine blood donations for new study. 🐕 🔬Researchers at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center are embarking on an exciting new research study training dogs to detect Canine hemangiosarcoma (HSA), an aggressive cancer affecting the blood vessels in a dog's liver, spleen, and heart. ❤️🩹There are no screening tests for HSA, and a diagnosis is usually received too late. This research will aid the development of urgently needed techniques for diagnosing hemangiosarcoma. 🔗 Learn how you can help: https://lnkd.in/eiV52Meb #ResearchAtPennVet #PennVet #PennVetWorkingDogCenter #PVWDC #caninehemangiosarcoma

Pet Cancer Awareness Month is marked throughout November by pet lovers from all over the country. It’s a time of showing extra affection to pets living with cancer. In addition, this holiday spreads awareness about how to prevent or treat cancer in our furry friends. Statistics from MedVet show that one in five cats and one in four dogs are diagnosed with cancer. This makes National Pet Cancer Awareness Month all the more important — to help pet owners learn about how to give their loved ones a better life. #petcancer #cancer #petcancerawareness #awareness #loveyourpets #takecareofyourpets

Imagine being 4 years old, an age typically filled with carefree play and boundless energy. Now picture having to lie perfectly still, wearing a custom-molded mask bolting your head to a table, day after day, for 30 treatments, followed by another 10 sessions. The sheer magnitude of what Neev endured is both heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring! Let Neev's bravery be the catalyst that inspires us all to take action. Together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of children facing cancer, ensuring they receive the best possible care, support, and chance at a healthy future. What will you do today to make a difference?
For children like Neev and Ronil, cancer means facing terrifying moments like this—where their bravery is tested, and pain is endured. These masks, molded to fit their heads, are crucial for radiation therapy, a process that’s even more terrifying when they’re awake, unable to move as the treatment begins. The courage these children show is beyond measure. We hear their cries, and it’s up to us to answer—with hope, support, and action. Every child deserves a future, and we can make that future brighter through research and philanthropy. Register for our BORN Gala NOW -- Find the link in the comments.

In honor of Pancreatic Awareness Month, join us in learning more about Pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the United States and about 7% of all cancer deaths. Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is the most common type of pancreatic cancer. It forms when exocrine cells in the pancreas start to grow out of control. At kmG Hauling we strive to educate our team, customers, and those that see our trucks to learn more about Pancreatic Cancer. That is why we created a fleet of purple Pancreatic trucks to help bring awareness amongst our DMV community. Discover the many ways you can bring hope to the pancreatic cancer community and create more awareness in yours: https://lnkd.in/gSrQ8CQg #kmgcares #pancreaticcancerawarenessmonth

The American Cancer Society announced yesterday that the five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer has now increased to 13%.... and this is GOOD news! I know a 13% survival rate for 5 years doesn't seem good, but it was only 11% when my mom was diagnosed 4 years ago. After lung and colon cancer, pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S, with the highest mortality rate of all the major cancers. That 2% increase in survival rates in the last 4 years is just one of the reasons that I will continue to walk in the PanCAN PurpleStride walk and raise money this year. Through better education, research, and patient resources they are hopeful that they can raise that five-year survival rate to 20% by 2030. And I am positive that my mom is going to hit that 5 year mark at the end of 2024! Any support you can provide is much appreciated by our entire family! https://lnkd.in/gMFM9hYG
Let's take steps together at PurpleStride!
