Similarly to why I love watching professional athletes play, I LOVE watching pro sellers sell. Here is what I loved about Mia Lilienthal's pitch 🔽 1) She established herself as a market expert, while also providing value to the prospect by explaining observed trends. At the end of the meeting the prospect will walk away with some value. 2) She identified pain and showed understanding to the prospect by identifying all the options that the leader had tried but had failed. 3) She established that there is a wrong vs. right way to tackle this challenge. What leaders have been doing isn't working and needs to change. 3) She sold the next meeting, not features AND got all the stakeholders involved on the next call. My personal opinion? This is a great template for how to have meaningful, consultative, conversations with our prospects.

Don’t Forget to Celebrate Your Wins! I recently spoke with a Branch Manager who made a great point: as an industry, we're often too focused on pointing out mistakes and failures, both in ourselves and others. We don’t spend enough time celebrating our wins or recognizing what we’ve done well. Let’s change that. Instead of fixating on the negatives, let’s take a moment to appreciate our successes—big or small—and recognize the contributions of those around us. If a processor, LOA, or underwriter has gone above and beyond to save a loan or help in some way, take a moment to thank them. And don't forget to share that appreciation with the management team. We all work hard, and we deserve to step back and be proud of what we’ve accomplished. Let’s make sure we’re celebrating those victories, both individually and as a team.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀? 💪 Over the last 3 years, we've launched 2 products, closed 2 funding rounds, gained a ton of customers, hired some fantastic staff, and achieved so much more, but we haven’t really taken the time to properly celebrate any of it. It’s been a treadmill of achievements and setting the next goals. Sometimes, the big wins take months to happen, and when they do, the excitement doesn’t hit quite the same. So what do we do? We celebrate the small wins instead, like: 🎉 Resolving a customer support issue / bug within 15 minutes 🎉 Getting a positive email from one of our customers about how we sped up a difficult transaction 🎉 Realising that Yasmin has already planned and scoped a project that I’ve only just thought of (Thank you!) These small wins keep us motivated to get up and do it all over again.  What are your small wins? 

A WIN isn’t the finish line. It’s just the next level up! Why am I sharing this? Because I see it all the time, people hit a win and think it’s time to slow down, but that’s where they miss the mark. Here’s a real talk example: you close a big sale, and then you’re like, “I’ve made it, let me relax for the day or two days or a week.” NO. That’s just the teaser for your potential. The real work? That’s the whole damn movie! Whether it’s crushing a sale, winning an award, or delivering a killer presentation, a win should ignite you to evolve and push higher. Who's with me? CITY OFFICIALS ARE EXECUTING DEVELOPERS AGREEMENTS BEFORE PUBLIC IS AWARE ? TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION? DISPARITY REPORT 2016 STATES. Redevelopment Authority] approved the goal over the objections of the Human Relations Department of I think 1.2 minority [participation] and 2.5 WBE [participation], when there was adequate availability of minority and women contractors to meet the City’s standard kind of goal of 15 [percent] and 7 [percent]. They’re diluting the opportunity for minority and women contractors when it comes through the statutory business development organizations, all of whom have different sets of rules..… There ought to be a uniform code that is incorporated in all the development agreements which people in our community never see.… There’s a disconnect. And I realize they’re trying to change some of that now but the insulting part of it was there was more money spent through statutory agencies last year for contracting activities than there were through City departments.… It’s obviously developer driven. By the time we see it the development agreement has already been executed. We’re having a big deal now both with the east patrol, the streetcar and the proposed 800 room convention center hotel. If it’s not in the development agreement there’s very little you can do at that point.… Kansas City’s an inclusive city. We’ve shown that over and over. It has sustained through white mayors, through black mayors, through female mayors. Yet, we allow the statutory organizations to dilute it.They have their own board[s] and they can do what they want.
