Today, members of the Women’s Morales Unidos Network (MUN) Group, with leader Amelia Siler, spent the afternoon at Coburn Place Safe Haven, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering survivors of domestic violence. They sorted appliances for future families, gathered furniture for a mother + her five daughters moving into their new home, and cleaned out their shed to make room for an upcoming delivery of 20 donated bikes. Coburn Place provides safe housing and support services for individuals and families rebuilding their lives. Learn more about their incredible mission at https://hubs.ly/Q02_xsK-0. The MUN Groups were created to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures and experiences that make our team unique and strong. These employee-led groups promote cultural awareness, personal growth, and community impact, aligning with our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Together, we’re building a brighter future—for our teammates and the communities we serve. #CommunityImpact #DEI #MoralesUnidosNetwork

🧥 Did you know? Clothing isn’t considered an “essential item” by the government—even though it’s illegal to walk around without it. For thousands in our community, lack of access to clean, decent clothing isn’t just about comfort; it’s a barrier to dignity, self-respect, and opportunity. Right now, we have 64 organizations at 86 locations in Los Angeles on our waitlist, urgently requesting clothing for those they serve. Many of these organizations are part of the continuum of care and receive significant government funding—yet as a nonprofit dedicated to providing clothing as a basic necessity, we don’t qualify for that support. Help us bridge this gap. Together, we can work toward a world where no one has to go without the essentials. 💙

I’ve been exploring how data shows up in other fields to compare it with corporate social impact data. ⏭ My observations contribute to Debunking or questioning some best practices 🤔 And Reinforcing others. 🏅 Reading about Mackenzie Scott’s latest round of giving isn’t far outside of corporate social impact. The story is told using big numbers. The big numbers are supplemented by examples of specific grantees giving the specifics of their work. That sounds pretty familiar. 😊 CNN / Business Insider / AP articles $ given ($640 million) # organizations applied (6,000) # organizations in top tier scores(279), $2M each # of organizations next tier (82), $1M each $ B, Scott’s fortune (36.2) $ given last year or last round $ budget to eligible ($1M and $5M) Similar to the incredible spike in some organizations' budgets in 2016, I'm curious how we will look back on Yield Giving's effects five years from now. 🔮 In the majority, the nonprofit sector responds to the issues created by our faulty and harmful systems. Responsive action doesn't create systemic change but it does make things better for people's lives. That's why I'm hopeful to hear stories of individual's lives changing ✨ because of these massive gifts, including the nonprofit staff themselves, but do not expect stories of systems change. 🏔 #CSR #philanthropy #corporatephilanthropy #measuretomanage #DataInsights #DataforGood
We're thrilled to share the Yield Giving Open Call has announced 361 U.S. nonprofit organizations are receiving $640 million in funding! The Open Call — managed by Lever for Change — sought community-led, community-focused organizations whose explicit purpose is to advance the voices and opportunities of individuals, families, and communities who have met with systemic obstacles. These organizations are focused on working with people and in places experiencing the greatest need in the U.S.: communities, individuals, and families with access to the fewest foundational resources and opportunities. Congratulations to all of the awardees! For more information, visit: https://lnkd.in/gWNYQb5q #YieldGiving #YieldGivingOpenCall #SocialImpact

Did you know that Realtors volunteer at three times the rate of the average American? 💪 Giving back to the community is a big part of who we are and there are many ways to make a positive impact, whether it's donating items you no longer need, offering financial support, or volunteering your time. Organize a fundraiser or a drive to gather essentials like food, clothes, or household items for those in need. You can also honor those who serve by supporting local police, fire departments, and veterans. 🚓🚒🎖️ During disasters, stepping up to assist with shelter, food, or supplies can make a huge difference. 🏠🍲 If you're unsure how to get involved, ask local organizations where your skills and resources could be best utilized. Sometimes, the best way to give back is by joining forces with others to maximize impact. 🤝 Every bit helps, and together, we can build a stronger, more supportive community. 🌟 Do you love your community? A group of kids were faced with a tough decision: spend their afternoon helping the homeless or enjoying a sweet treat at the ice cream parlor 🍦🤔. But as they thought about it, they realized that they could make a difference in their community by choosing to help those in need 🌎. They decided to spend their time serving meals and collecting donations for the local homeless shelter 🍴. As they worked together to make a positive impact, the kids learned valuable lessons about empathy, kindness, and the importance of giving back 🤝. They saw firsthand the struggles that many people face and understood that even small actions can make a big difference 🌟. And as they left the shelter, they felt a sense of pride and fulfillment that no ice cream cone could match 🎉. The kids' selfless decision inspired others to follow in their footsteps, creating a ripple effect of kindness in the community 🌊. They proved that even the youngest among us can make a big impact when we choose to put others before ourselves 👧🏼. And who knows, maybe next time they'll enjoy their ice cream cones even more, knowing that they've made a difference in the lives of others 🍦😊. #followme #KidsMakingADifference #HelpingTheHomeless #SelflessActs #EmpathyInAction #KindnessMatters #GivingBack #CommunityFirst #InspiringYouth #RippleEffectOfKindness #MakeADifference #YouthEmpowerment #SocialImpact #HeartwarmingMoments

We are stronger when we walk together, When a woman leaves a violent partner, she loses so much more than a roof over her head - she risks her safety, faces relocation and loses access to financial stability, community, and support systems. With domestic violence as the leading cause of homelessness for women, many are forced to choose between staying with a violent partner and having a place to stay. Support Walk for WAGEC Women's & Girls' Emergency Centre (WAGEC) so that women and their children can walk away from violence. With the rising cost of living and housing crisis, WAGEC's services are more in-demand than ever and needing your help to raise $300,000 that will fund vital services that will support women and children in crisis, and stop violence before it starts. A donation of $250 could provide three days of crisis accomodation for a woman and her children who have just escaped violence. Every dollar helps to build a safer future for women and children in our community. We're stronger when we walk together. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/gT7rErZ8

Honestly, can we trust the numbers? 🧮 In this video, we’re exploring point-in-time (PIT) counts - an attempt to determine the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night over the entire state of California. We’re examining data the counts have provided over the years, looking at how the PIT counts work and why they might not be as optimised and accurate as they could be (yet!). The script was largely based on our blog post “New Counts of Homelessness and More YIMBY vs NIMBY” by Rohan Montgomery. Read the full article 📙 here: https://lnkd.in/eE25m3kn #impactlabs #nonprofit #homelessness #housingcrisis #california

It’s #NativeNonprofitDay! Did you know, Native-led organizations often encounter barriers in accessing funding due to systemic inequalities in philanthropy. Despite making up 2.9% of the U.S. population, only 0.4% of philanthropic dollars explicitly benefit Native Americans. We at the Alliance ask you to take a moment today to support your favorite Native-led organization. Together, let's honor and uplift the vital work of Native nonprofits, preserving culture, advancing rights, and empowering communities. #NativeNonprofitDay #SupportIndigenous #GiveNative
