GEORGIA RFP ALERT - Pursuant to the #Georgia State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated §§50-5-50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) is being issued to establish a contract with a qualified supplier who will provide Janitorial Services for Georgia Advanced Manufacturing Training Center to the TCSG Georgia QuickStart (hereinafter, the State Entity) as further described in this eRFP. The Georgia BioScience Training Center is a 50,000-sq.-ft. building that opened in 2015 and is dedicated to supporting research, technology transfer, and comprehensive, customized workforce training for bioscience and biomanufacturing industries. The facility includes administrative areas, classrooms, computer labs, a large multi-purpose room, a maintenance training space, analytic lab, a simulated gowning space with lockers and storage. The Pilot Lab is equipped with manufacturing-scale biomanufacturing equipment requiring appropriate cleaning for stainless steel. The GBTC requires additional consideration due to its status as a signature showcase facility. Serving the biotech sector requires that it reflect the cleanliness and sophistication of the bio-manufacturing, bio-pharmaceutical industry. The public areas mostly have a terrazzo composite finish on the floors, and floor-to ceiling glass walls encircling a landscaped exterior space that is the centerpiece of the Center. The American Institutes of Architects Georgia honored the building with an Excellence Award as the best Built Project. The successful contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, tools, equipment, supplies, Maintenance, and services to perform the janitorial services as described within the attached Scope of Service and Mandatory Scored requirements for the eRFP. back in 2017-2018 when we started doing cladding audits, we based our report on filler type and percentage, as that is what indicated fire risk. Alas the government came along and removed science and engineering form the equation and reports all had to be updated to the, inconclusive and non-scientific polymer percentage only. All was raised a the time, including with the government. Still no one listened to the science. New paper, snippet blow, still brings this up 6-7 years later, but still we can't use science to help engineer the outcomes for this issue. (if anyone wants to know how we got here, I know the exact timeline and events that lead to it, and there is practically no science to it. I and others used to try and share the science and engineering, but was clear there was no interest in it) https://lnkd.in/gNepqBeX

🔔 Have you ever wondered what ▶sound absorption classes◀ are exactly and what they represent ❓ The classification is a method, among others, to categorize the sound absorption performance of absorbers, particularly for construction materials. It is simpler and easier for non-acousticians to grasp since it doesn’t involve numbers. There are five classes: 👉 Class A (highest performance) 👉 Class B 👉 Class C 👉 Class D 👉 Class E (lowest performance - althought there is also the non-classified performance) (You can find the details of this classification in ISO 11654 (2023) – Sound absorbers for use in buildings – Rating of sound absorption.) If you want to know how the sound absorption class is 📈established/calculated 📟 for a certain material, read the rest of the article by following this link 👇 https://lnkd.in/efQsdnD3 Enjoy the read!
