Recently, I had a conversation with a founder who was struggling with the performance of his lead generation sales funnel. Despite investing a significant amount in Google and Meta ads, the results weren’t matching the spend. Failing either of these 2 metrics will fail your lead gen campaign. (it's just the way Google Ads work) Most of the work I do on an account aims to improve these metrics: 1. Click Through Rate Poor CTR means low Quality Scores, means lower Ad Rank, means meadiocre presence in the auctions, less traffic and high Cost Per Click. On the contrary, strong CTR improves all those other elements. Because of that, I heavily prioritise creatives in the form of Ad Copies and Assets (formely Extensions). 2. Website Conversion Rate Poor conversion rate results in high Cost Per Acquisition, fewer leads within our campaign budgets, less data collected, fewer sales opportnuties, less revenue, less profit, stagnant growth rate. And we don't want any of that. By improving the Conversion Rate we can literally transform businesses. Hence my intense focus on CRO and optimisation for sales.
