3 Facebook Page Management Mistakes Businesses Make (and How to Fix Them!) Is your Facebook page a ghost town, or worse, spewing out promotional content that pushes followers away? Don't worry, you're not alone. Many businesses struggle to effectively manage their Facebook presence. Here are 3 common mistakes I see and how to steer clear of them: 1. All About You, No Value for Followers: Mistake: Constantly blasting promotions and self-serving content. Fix: Focus on providing value! Share industry insights, answer customer questions, or post behind-the-scenes glimpses. People follow Facebook pages to learn and be entertained, not bombarded with sales pitches. 2. Inconsistent Posting (or Radio Silence): Mistake: Posting sporadically or going completely dark for long stretches. Fix: Develop a content calendar! Plan your posts in advance to ensure a steady stream of engaging content. Even a few times a week can make a difference. 3. Ignoring Engagement (Comments & Messages): Mistake: Failing to respond to comments and messages promptly. Fix: Be present and responsive! Social media is a two-way street. Address comments and messages quickly, showing your audience you value their interaction. By avoiding these pitfalls, you can turn your Facebook page into a thriving online community that fosters brand loyalty and drives results. Do you suspect your Facebook page might be suffering from one of these mistakes? I can help! I have a keen eye for identifying areas for improvement and can develop a data-driven strategy to get your Facebook page back on track. #facebookmarketing #socialmediamanagement #communitymanagement

Got a call out of the blue yesterday from somebody miles away, who had a particular issue they couldn’t figure out with Google Ads, and who had then found via searching fairly old video I had uploaded that discussed the same topic. They called up on the off chance they could reach me and get me to clarify a point, and possibly complete some of the work for them. Two thoughts stuck with me. Firstly, although you see view numbers in your YouTube dashboard (or LinkedIn post impressions or profile views) sometimes it takes an event like this to remind yourself that “yes, there’s a real person on the other end … fake traffic that does exist online aside. Secondly, it’s a nice feeling to know that you actually provided a useful answer that (mostly) gave the viewer what they needed to solve a problem.

I restarted my TikTok-led marketing business. In 1 month I've generated 10 leads and 11K views. Over 100 profile views and link-tree views. 43 clicks to my different website links and affiliate links. 3 customers. For you data nerds here's a little breakdown: Profile views from video: 0.91% Link click rate: 43% Inbound request: 16.28% Customer conversion: 42.86% Video to customer conversion: 0.027% I post Monday - Friday 1-2 times a day. It takes me maybe 5 minutes a day to post and then respond. For almost every follow, I send a DM thanking them, ask if they have questions, and then remind them of upcoming topics. This doesn't include my newsletter that has subscribers (purely from TikTok) and a course I'm working on. I've never went viral. I don't get a ton of views on my videos (each video). But I'm making money and it works. Will I get rich from this? No. I'm just trying to earn some extra money. We'll see what the findings are with 90 days under my belt! #personalbranding #careers #marketing #socialmedia

"I've poured thousands into Facebook Ads, but they're just not converting. What am I doing wrong?" A few days back a founder reached out to me and shared this. After diving into their campaign, I discovered 5 common pitfalls: 1. Mismatched objectives: Their campaign goal didn't align with their business needs. 2. Irrelevant: They were talking to the wrong crowd. 3. Broken promises: Their ads over promised, but their landing page under delivered. 4. Clunky landing pages: The user experience was... let's just say "challenging." 5. Unfriendly policies: Their payment and refund setup scared potential customers away. Sound familiar? You're not alone. I've seen countless businesses struggle with these same issues and end up getting nothing. But here's the good news: they're all fixable! My Social media comeback Part 1..... For years, I consistently posted up to ten pieces of content a week, sharing business/SEO insights, strategies and hopefully motivating the odd person along the way. But, if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been lately, here’s the truth: I’ve been deep in the trenches, navigating one of the biggest shifts in SEO in recent memory. Google’s massive algorithm changes this past year hit many websites hard. Traffic plummeted, and businesses felt the impact. The rise of AI-generated content has been a major factor in this transformation. I will talk about this in another post this week. Rather than continue onboarding new clients based on past successes, I made the decision to pause and dig deep into what was really going on. It would’ve been easy to keep moving forward based on old results, but I would’ve felt like a fraud if I didn’t take the time to understand the changes, learn and adapt my strategies. I’m committed to providing the best results for my clients, not what worked five years ago, but what works now. Taking the long road to truly understand these shifts has been essential, and while it might have been a slower path, it’s the right one. Sometimes, doing the right thing means not taking shortcuts, and that’s the approach I’ve taken for myself and my clients. The landscape has changed, but I’m more confident than ever in the new strategies we are developing. Ok, there was also one other reason for me going silent in the last year on top of this....... I will go through that in Part 2 later this week.

How to create winning Facebook ads faster: (Most people mess up the third step) ------- 1) Test your first ad This gives you a baseline and some initial data. 2) Analyze results quickly. Don’t wait weeks to tweak your strategy; Make adjustments and test again What people often do instead: Spend ages perfecting the first ad, delaying launch Get discouraged by initial low performance, feeling it’s a failed attempt Take too long to adjust, missing chances to optimize early Launch fast, learn fast, improve fast That’s how you create winning Facebook ads fast If you still struggle?? Day#9 on LinkedIn! 🔥 Attention all marketers! Are Facebook Ads draining your budget without delivering results? . . Let me tell you a little story. Not long ago, I was in the same boat. I was spending money on Facebook Ads, hoping to get lots of conversions, but it felt like I was throwing money down the drain. Does that sound like you? I remember those days well. It felt like every dollar I spent was like sweat from hard work. But instead of seeing good stuff happen, I felt disappointed and annoyed. I was nearly ready to quit but then something clicked my mind. I figured out that I needed to change my plan big time. → It wasn't just about spending more money on ads; it was about getting to know my audience and saying things that really meant something to them. So, I got to work. I looked really closely at the numbers, listened to what people were saying, and even asked some of my best customers for advice. And you know what? It worked! My ads started bringing in more business. It was like watching a little seed grow into a big, strong tree. Now, my Facebook Ads aren't a waste of money anymore. They're helping me grow my business like never before. Got Facebook Ads troubles or any other marketing challenge? Don't keep it to yourself. You put your web link in, Your web link out, In out in out and shake it all about! 👐 Ah - the ever-changing rules of links in posts on LinkedIn! We all know LinkedIn wants to keep us on here as long as possible(and is doing a good job achieving this!) It used to be that posts with web links in didn’t get as much visibility as taking people off LinkedIn. Hence “link in comments” as a work around. But then, some user thoughts. What happened if your post was reposted and link did not go with it? Plus putting in the thumbnail picture to the link makes a nice clickable space for people to engage with your post. So maybe put the link in actually? But wait! LinkedIn have changed the size of the thumbnail with organic posts so is much smaller! Oh and now if you pop a link in the comments, it seems to go directly to LinkedIn jail so nobody can see it. Which is a shame for some social media schedulers who recently introduced a feature that helps you schedule posts and put the link in the comment! So actually link might as well go in post copy…. Oh yes and also as trialled at 830pm last night, LinkedIn seems to be putting some kind of boost behind links to news pieces now, even if they are third party sites. Despite later time and external link to media last night, my post travelled. Are you still reading? I expect only super geek level is still here at this point. 🤓 Advice: always pull as much value for your audience out as possible and optimise your post. Stick the link in if it is a news source. Use your own visual, photo or graphic, if another source. Or just link directly to the article if this all feels like hard work, as really life is too short and this is social media at the end of the day: Also do you like my Fame tee as a committment to the cause Simon P MARSHALL? #LinkedIn #EternalLinkDespair #LegalMarketing #AlgoWoes

A LinkedIn hook is NOT the same as clickbait. The difference? They both draw in the fish but: > a fish eats the bait and leaves. > a fish catches the hook and stays on for the ride. Your audience hates clickbait. Yes, they're temporarily drawn in. Yes, they may click 'read more'. Yes, you get that impression. But when the post isn't what they came for, it: > damages your personal brand > leaves your reader disappointed > makes them less likely to come back It's like when someone promises and doesn't deliver. It breaks trust. If you promise value in the hook, and deliver value in the post, it builds trust. Yes, you've used some strong language to draw them in. But you've given them exactly what they came for. Strong hooks are important. But strong posts are important-er.
