Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses are really an interesting prototype. They work well with your mobile and I can totally see their roadmap for the near future: ➡️ Increasing battery life, specially if the user doesn’t use them against the Sun only ➡️ Reducing delay for making queries with “Hey Meta” and increasing accuracy of their answers ➡️ Making it work smoother and more seamlessly for iPhone users What makes me curious is as to why didn’t they choose to get rid of the dependency on phone with some combination of XR on Rayban lenses and a small lightweight battery pack with a SIM card for communication to the net? In any case, an interesting product with potential. #productsense, #productstrategy, #Meta

I absolutely see the hype. Thanks, Silke Baier! Here are my points on #AppleVisionPro - Best passthrough and stereoscopic experience so far, but not too far ahead of #Quest3. Resolution of passthrough cameras seems to be the bottleneck because the displays are truly amazing -> - Best sharpness of rendered images (without passthrough) - By far the best and greatest UI Experience. Ever. Moving windows around and navigation with your eyes is just mind bending. - Available content is scarce but very cool. I enjoyed music videos with spatial audio most, even with only 3 Degrees of Freedom. I can only see this thing as a Dev Kit. The price and availability of apps is simply not there yet for mass markets. Still amazing how this "Dev Kit" is a finished product people can buy, and are buying at large! The #Vision is very clear. This thing is not a device, it's a platform. Just like the iPhone was! Interacting with the headset absolutely throwed me back to 2008 when I first used multi-touch gestures on the iPhone for the first time. A powerful platform with pleasant interfaces were everything is thought through, unlike Meta's products. Even if not for mass markets yet, I'd say that every media company should absolutely acquire one unit. It does inspire and give you so many ideas what one could do in the future with such a platform.

If you think Apple Vision Pro is about Vision Pro 1, you are mistaken. It's not your fault. It's easy to mistake a niche market from one brand for a small market. But did you know that the AR/VR market is at the very same inflection point as iPhone 13 was? iPhone 13 was the version of the iPhone where the mobile, and associated app market, took off. It was at this very same inflection point and the very same curve that we now see for VR/AR/XR where Uber and Instagram were born. Who is going to be the next Uber or Instagram of Spatial? We think it's SpaceVibes.org and yes, we are biased. If you are an accredited investor, partner or collaborator. If you are a host or creator we are taking applications now. Now is the time to get in early. First reserve, first serve. Two-way street.

It's interesting the Apple are potentially delaying (I would say delay, rather than scrapping) the Apple Vision Pro 2 so that they can instead focus on an entry-level ~$1k-$1.5k model. I'd simply consider this to be an elongation of the product cycle, rather than a failure. As I've mentioned previously, Apple are trying to simultaneously get a number of stakeholders excited about their XR headsets: developers, consumers and distribution partners like telcos. The developers are interested, but consumers and distribution partners want something that they can afford. T-Mobile USA are currently offering Meta Quest 3s for $42-$54/month, much like you would a handset - that's the point when more telcos will be interested (and will be able to afford to be interested!). I think spatial video is going to be a massive selling point for those cheaper headsets. This revelation about the Vision Pro 2 comes on the precipice of the original Apple Vision Pro being launched across a much broader geographical footprint: it's available on preorder in the UK and elsewhere from this time next week. https://lnkd.in/e773_iZN #VR #XR #Apple #AppleVisionPro #research #telecoms #meta

Google Photos just reminded me of this video which was the last video I had captured in Mumbai in October 2022 before coming back to Delhi. Just thinking about the future when we can record Spatial photos/videos on an Apple/Android smartphone and can watch them in our present reality on Meta Quest device or Apple Vision device.... #extendedreality #spatialcomputing #futureofinteraction #futureoftravel #universe #metaverse

Meta's v65 update expands iPhone video support for Quest VR users Meta has expanded iPhone video playback support for its Quest VR headsets and introduced new features in the latest v65 software update. Now, any iPhone running iOS 17 can send videos to Quest OS for viewing. The update also adds passthrough for system dialog boxes and a panoramic photo viewing mode. However, multitasking capabilities still differ between Apple's Vision Pro and Meta's Quest headsets. #tech#programmig#coder#programmer#software#advance#technologies#program... #linkdengrow#linkdenup#linkdenupdate..

💕 The EU demanded from Apple to guarantee that smartwatches, headphones and virtual reality (VR) devices of competing manufacturers will work with the iPhone and iOS. The EU also called on the US company to ensure that the process it uses to evaluate compatibility requests from third-party developers is transparent, timely and fair. Apple has been warned by the European Union (EU) that the US corporation must ensure that competitors' devices are compatible with the iPhone and its closely guarded iOS operating system. Failure to comply with the EU threatens the iPhone maker with billions of dollars in fines. European authorities intend to put an end to the closed ecosystem of Apple, which put competitors at a disadvantage and forced them to pay high commissions for the use of proprietary services of the American corporation. #EU #Apple #TechIndustry

Meta Orion VS Apple Vision Pro. In a world where people are still figuring out how to avoid Zoom calls, Meta just dropped its Orion AR glasses, ready to give Apple’s Vision Pro a run for its money. Let’s compare: 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: Meta Orion: Looks like regular glasses—cool and easy to wear anywhere. Apple Vision Pro: More like your cousin who wears a full suit to a party—impressive but hard to ignore! 🏋️♂️ 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 & 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Orion: Weighs just 100 grams—so light you’ll forget it’s on! Vision Pro: At 350 grams, it’s like wearing a small weight on your face—definitely a workout! 💰 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞: Vision Pro: Costs $3,499—more like a good EMI payment! Orion: Rumored to be around $1,000—bit easier on the wallet! In the end, will Meta’s Orion become the favorite, or will it stay a niche gadget? Thoughts?

It's been just over two months since Apple launched its Vision Pro AR/VR headset, priced at $3,500. While it's expensive for consumers, Apple sees potential in the enterprise market. The company believes that if it can persuade large businesses to buy Vision Pros in bulk, it would significantly boost sales. Apple has a track record of successfully introducing consumer products into the business world. The iPhone, MacBook, and Mac are commonly used in offices globally. Although Apple doesn't disclose the breakdown of consumer versus business sales, having enterprise clients ensures a steady flow of upgrades as older devices are replaced with newer ones.
