We are planning a trip to NYC. My family goes through a process when taking a trip. We have a budget, and they plan around it. It is very clear that — the flight is the least important - very low on the list — food is of low to moderate importance — the hotel is of moderate importance — experiences are of high importance It is interesting to see them sort through the tradeoffs. They usually start with a nicer hotel room and work their way down to do more things. We all value different things. Like with financial planning, the important thing is to make an informed, thoughtful decision. #financialplanning

From the moment a group decides they’re coming to Moulin Wakefield Mill Hôtel & Spa for a retreat, board of directors meeting, AGM, or for whatever other reason they’ll be coming together, I need to make sure they have the best experience possible. And yes, that includes doing my very best to ensure clean backend finance and revenue operations. Clients want to know what it will cost, what they’ll get out of it, and what it’s like when it’s over. So trust me when I say I love the feeling I get when I’ve been able to finalize billings for a group - most times, there is an outstanding balance. Other times, we owe them a credit or refund (anyone who does events knows that sometimes the numbers go down) and so they usually decide to process the refund or keep it on hold for their next event. And then I read this. And I say to myself (and then to my team), that we’re on the right track… #guestexperience #clientexperience #customerexperience
