The below gas production optimization workflows perform a production data analysis from a sub-surface standpoint in a gas field reservoir. The workflow and techniques used in this approach uses specialized engineering processes to rapidly understand reservoir behavior and parameters, identify wells with anomalous behavior (over/underperformance) and also to recognize areas of opportunity. Among the solutions provided in this project include a system for real-time data retrieval, visualization, and analysis of reservoir production performance. This is achieved by linking the integrated dynamic surveillance workflows with Avocet and Avalon. With these workflows, data such as daily gas rates, condensate rates, and wellhead pressures can be provided from one shared at the engineer’s desktop. Quick and efficient access to this data will allow engineers to concentrate their efforts on the important tasks of analysis and decision-making, to improve reservoir and field performance. This paper presents an overview of the implementation of an automated workflow designed to support the management of a Saudi Arabian reservoir, by integrating real-time production data with other data elements. The workflow and techniques used require specialized engineering processes to fully understand the reservoir behavior and associated parameters to identify wells with anomalous behavior. Among the solutions provided in this workflow is a system for real-time data retrieval, visualization, and analysis of reservoir production performance. This is achieved by linking dynamic surveillance processes with real-time data, and allowing data to be provided in real-time at the engineer's desktop. To provide a coherent explanation of the production behavior, multiple analysis processes and tools were used. These included a workover candidate selection system, decline curve analysis, and heterogeneity index analysis. The workflow also included mapping and quality control tools to flag out data outliers. In addition, alarm systems were included to alert the engineer when sudden changes in reservoir performance occur in the field. The implementation of this workflow has resulted in considerable time savings, with pertinent data being automatically updated and used in the analysis, as opposed to manual processing, leading to improved efficiency in field management practices. The workflow has been deployed as an application of the Intelligent Field concept in a carbonate field in Saudi Aramco. Most of these fields can be categorized as brownfields, with some of the wells considered aged and have expected integrity issues. Achieving sustainable production targets with cost-effective and safe operations from these fields requires a close monitoring of the integrity of all elements involved in the production chain. Addressing these challenges requires the engineers to coordinate and analyze several data elements, including casedhole, openhole, reservoir, well, and production data from multiple sources. Another challenge is to create and automate a corrosion workflow that saves the engineers’ time and improves efficiency. In this paper, we introduce an innovative workflow that uses historical corrosion data while integrating multiple production and reservoir variables. The innovative approach uses machine learning (ML)algorithms to provide a powerful tool for workover (W/O) candidate selection and for optimizing the corrosion evaluation frequency, which are required in different areas of the fields. Different ML methods(random forest classification and neural net) were applied on training data. Different models were created, and the best model will be used. This offered key insights on the rate of corrosion and corrosion patterns. Further, the developed workflow was designed to be self-sustaining and act as a surveillance tool for monitoring the integrity of the wells. New animated conformance corrosion maps were created. The successful diagnosis through data analytics in a modern integrated software platform will assist in corrosion monitoring and decision-making. The multiple corrosion maps can be animated to visualize current corrosion profile and predict the corrosion over time, in addition to ranking the wells for W/O candidate selection.
