"𝐀 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: '𝐀𝐧 𝐌𝐁𝐀 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬.'' 🎓📚 While an MBA curriculum undoubtedly covers complex business concepts and strategies, this quote highlights how much of the core knowledge may actually be straightforward ideas dressed up in academic or corporate jargon. #MBALife #BusinessSchool The true value of an MBA lies not just in the information itself, but in the structured learning experience, the brilliant minds you learn from, the networking opportunities, and the practice of applying these 'simple things' to real-world business challenges. #NetworkingIsNetWorth An MBA equips you with an enhanced ability to deconstruct complexities, think critically, and communicate intricate ideas with clarity and precision - skills that are invaluable in today's fast-paced business landscape. #CriticalThinking #CommunicationSkills What's your take on this perspective? Do you agree that core business wisdom is simple at its heart, but made to sound sophisticated through elaborate language? Or do you think there's true complexity that can only be unraveled through rigorous study? #MBACommunity #BusinessMinds Share your views below and let's discuss! And while you're at it, share this thought-provoking quote with your network to spark an engaging discussion. #FoodForThought #LinkedInBuzz #MBA #Business #Management #Leadership #Entrepreneurship

We're hurling towards Q4 which means it's time to start thinking about your growth plans! That was the topic for discussion in the last Peer to Peer session of this cohort on the Help to Grow: Management Course studying at Help to Grow: Management - University of Lincoln last week. Throughout the course we have encouraged a reflective mindset, analysing the current situation, considering how they want their business to grow and work a plan to get them there. They are now working on getting their plans down on paper. This doesn't have to be complicated: Start by asking: 1. What's the current situation (Your Situation Analysis) 2. Where do I want to be (Your Goals and Objectives - SMART if you please) 3. What direction will we take to get there (Strategies) 4. How exactly will we get there? (Tactics) 5. Who needs to do what, where, and when to get us there? (Action plan) 6. How will we know if we're making progress (Reflect and Measure - against your SMART objectives) Thanks for another insightful and supportive session today. I'm going to miss these sessions. Dear Business and People Leaders! Everyone may not be a numbers person. But speaking the language of money, can make them more successful, say experts It doesn’t really matter what role or position you occupy. The chances of your proposals and projects getting accepted will go up significantly if you know how to highlight the financial implication of what you are proposing As Harvard Business School Professor Richard Ruback points out, “Decision-makers will want to see a simple model that shows revenue, costs, overhead, and cash flow.” A board based simulation is possibly one of the most engaging and enduring ways to pick up essentials of finance. That’s easy to appreciate because as young adults, many of us, often learnt more about money, playing a board game even before we started using cash in real life. Celemi Apples & Oranges is a board based simulation that brings business acumen to life through its simple, profound model of a company – A&O Inc. After experiencing how VALUE circulates through a company, participants may never look at Business Finance the same way again Find out all about how you can help people learn the foundational concepts of finance as a team through an activity driven simulation.. Books worth revisiting: “The Psychology of Money” by Morgan Housel offers profound lessons that apply to both business and personal finance. Key insights for business leaders: 1. Warren Buffett’s Secret Compounding over time is what made Buffett wealthy. In business, long-term consistency beats short-term wins. 2. Tails Drive Success Most outcomes come from a few key events. Focus on big, game-changing opportunities that can transform your business. 3. Be Flexible, Not Rigid Adaptability is critical. Businesses that pivot when needed survive downturns and thrive in uncertainty. 4. Avoid FOMO Fear of missing out leads to bad decisions. Stick to your strategy and ignore the hype. 5. Man in the Car Paradox People admire success, not the flashy symbols of it. Invest in long-term value, not appearances. 6. Optimism Over Pessimism History shows long-term growth despite downturns. Stay focused on future opportunities. 7. Ego is Dangerous Overconfidence leads to mistakes. Stay humble, seek feedback, and stay cautious of risky decisions. 8. Custom Strategies What works for others might not work for you. Tailor your business strategy to your own strengths and goals. 9. Keep Options Open Flexibility and diversified income streams give you power in decision-making. 10. Reputation is Everything Long-term relationships built on trust and reliability create lasting success beyond quick gains. This book is a must-read for anyone looking to refine their business approach or rethink how they view long-term success. #BusinessStrategy #Leadership #Finance #ThePsychologyOfMoney #LongTermThinking
