✨ Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an enlightening presentation on the role of philanthropy in entrepreneurship and innovation in the GCC, organized by the Pearl Initiative and the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship (CDE) at MIT. ✨ The event brought together prominent voices from across the region, including Dina H. Sherif, Fadi Ghandour, Nader AlBastaki, Natasha Matic, Sabrin Rahman , Sonia Ben Jaafar, and Mona Ataya, for an engaging panel discussion. 🌍 Key Insights: Philanthropy plays a crucial role in building an innovation-driven ecosystem in the GCC, offering not only funding but strategic support to foster creativity and entrepreneurship. Collaboration between philanthropic entities, government, and businesses is essential to achieving long-term, sustainable growth. Education and skills development, particularly in technology, remain key areas where philanthropic investments can make a lasting impact. A huge thank you to all the panelists for their inspiring insights and to the Pearl Initiative for organizing such an important discussion. It's exciting to see how philanthropy is shaping the future of entrepreneurship in the GCC! #Entrepreneurship #Philanthropy #Innovation #GCC #SustainableGrowth #Collaboration #Education #Impact

EnterCircle Recap: Innovation Challenge Watch Mari's full interview on our YouTube at https://bit.ly/ECMariK Students who attended the Innovation Challenge Day last Tuesday had the privilege of hearing from Mari Kuraishi and her journey to her current role as President of the Jessie Ball DuPont Fund, an organization that aims to expand access to opportunity and create inclusive growth for all across the nation. Some key points she emphasized were: 1️⃣ Not everyone has their course for their life and career laid out. Sometimes you have to take risks and gain experiences through the opportunities that come your way. 2️⃣ Entrepreneurs are crazy! Success comes when you have an irrational belief that your idea will work. 3️⃣ Building a team that believes in your mission is crucial because this team will want to stay around when things get tough. We sat down with Mari to hear more about the work the DuPont Fund does to support the community and nonprofits and how the link and EnterCircle can play a part in placemaking and community building. Watch her full interview on our YouTube at https://bit.ly/ECMariK We thank Mari for sharing her insights and inspiring the next generation of leaders. We know that they took away new ideas and applied them to their business ideas in order to take them further to make an impact on the world. Thank you to all of the mentors that helped refine the student ideas and thank you to the St. Johns County School District for kicking off the innovation challenge with us! #EnterCircle24 #EnterCircle #Entrepreneurshipweek #Entrepreneurs #Nonprofits #Nonprofitleaders #sjcchamber #stjohnscounty #jaxchamber #pontevedra #nocatee #northFlorida #jax #jacksonvillebusiness #smallbusiness #businessexpo #thelinkusa

Just wrapped up the final #AfricaForward session at CCW Catalyst 2030 with an amazing conversation on Sustainable Financial Empowerment. From impactful insights to innovative ideas, we've explored how social impact and sustainable funds can drive change across Sub-Saharan Africa. Here are some key takeaways: 🌱 "More patient capital for social enterprises is crucial, considering many are exploring solutions for the first time and are prone to mistakes as they learn and grow into profitable ventures." - Osarume Akenzua 💡"We need to ensure we are getting social entrepreneurs who are investment ready so they are accessing the same pool of funds that the other entrepreneurs are because they are all solving problems. If anything, social entrepreneurs are solving even greater problems!" - Tosin Faniro-Dada, CPA 💰 "Access to finance remains a challenge, especially in French-speaking Africa. There's a need to review procedures to enable easier access with credible monitoring, restoring trust among stakeholders." - Mahamane Mourtala Salissou Thank you Lehlé B., Mosun Layode, Vivianne Infante and Tosin Faniro-Dada, CPA for such an insightful conversation. Don't forget to register to join us tomorrow for the final day of CCW. Register now:

"The current ecosystem seldom facilitates effective collaboration between social entrepreneurs and potential partners. This remains one of the biggest challenges for the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Improving this collaboration is a central objective of the Catalyst 2030 community." "The Catalyst Awards are a means of celebrating key supporters on our journey towards achieving the SDGs through bottom-up collaborations. By shining a light on the donors/stakeholders who support social innovation and entrepreneurship, we hope to redefine best practices and inspire others to follow their example. This will help to accelerate systems change while challenging current power dynamics." #charity #diversity #inclusion #equality #equity #London #collaboration #systemsforchange #powerdynamics https://lnkd.in/e8hFndHm

NGOs are the architects of hope and the engines of change in our communities. They work tirelessly to bridge gaps, advocate for the voiceless, and catalyze social progress. Their efforts are especially crucial in nurturing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, providing support and resources to those who aspire to forge their own paths in business. 🤝 Collaboration is at the heart of meaningful change, and NGOs play a pivotal role by partnering with stakeholders across sectors. At GAME, we witness firsthand the power of such partnerships in enhancing the reach and impact of our work in catalyzing mass entrepreneurship. NextWorld is an ideal funder of Ownership Project 2.0: Private Capital Owners & Impact because we are aligned on three key beliefs: first, family offices are uniquely positioned to create value for society and the environment--not just family owners. Second, the organisational forms and strategies that make this possible require innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. Third, data and analysis is required to understand what 'best' looks like in this emerging space. The Ownership Project and Maverick Collective by PSI brought together over 50 family offices, family foundations, and family networks for our invite-only event at the #SkollWorldForum at Saïd Business School University of Oxford. Attendees learned from NextWorld's co-founder Sebastien Lepinard why NextWorld calls itself an 'integrated capital organisation' instead of just a family office--and how the structure of the organisation reflects its goals. #impact #innovation #familycapital
Thank you to the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, University of Oxford for hosting NextWorld Philanthropies’ co-founder, Sebastien Lepinard, for a great conversation about the Ownership Project 2.0: Private Capital Owners & Impact. We were delighted to share NextWorld’s experience developing and implementing an Integrated Capital Organization, where we work to leverage our investment and philanthropic capital to create value for society. NextWorld Philanthropies is proud to participate in The Ownership Project 2.0 which is working to identify best practices and innovations among family offices and families with holding companies, businesses and foundations using their private capital to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals. #SKWForum #IntegratedCapital #UNSDG
