This is one of the single, most important initiatives taking place right now. It is imperatitive that every organization doesn’t just know the details involved with this, but can execute this methodology. It starts with a comprehensive understanding of the draft guidance given in June of 2021, from this same office. How you set up the clinical trial is second to how you recruit the patients. I have found very few that grasp, or understand these two, when consulting. The future of every organization’s success will soon hinge upon that organization’s vision, strategy, and execution. The ability to simulate the study on the front end will be the most critical point of all of this. Better have the right vendors as partners. Good luck to everyone! #FEWUNDERSTAND

There are so many important messages in this, from importance of co-creation and including patients in trial design to the importance of leadership endorsing activities to enable the organisation to create more inclusive research 🌟.
This is what makes a Medical / Science Congress visit truly energizing – the opportunity to engage with and listen to people who experience our innovation. As we in Boehringer Ingelheim presented positive results from our Beamion LUNG-1 trial at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, I had this unique chance to understand from Loriana Hernández-Aldama, a 2x cancer survivor and patient advocate, her observations on diversity in clinical trials, at the conference venue. Given her experiences, she is now an ardent supporter of enhanced patient voice in drug development. To be acknowledged by her that we are on the right path to engaging with patients early on in development and trial design is a true commendation to the Boehringer team’s commitment to #patient-powered progress. Please see below excerpts of our discussion. Loriana, thank you for all your work! I look forward to us continuing this dialogue. #LifeForward #CancerTreatment #IASLC

Patients and society won’t reap the benefits of precision oncology unless we democratize this data, that is, make it available to the patients who need it when they need it. With a few practical improvements to current care pathways, we could achieve this, meet the need for urgency, and empower patients. Stacy Hurt 🌻, Parexel's Chief Patient Officer and a stage 4 cancer survivor, highlights three things we MUST do to ensure all patients can potentially benefit from precision oncology in our New Medicines, Novel Insights report: https://lnkd.in/gBkJMKt2 #PrecisionOncology #NovelInsights #PatientsFirst #PatientData #ASCO24
