Transporting poultry from grow farms to processing plants can be stressful for birds. Add in hot, humid weather or a brisk cold snap, and stress levels increase enough to contribute to weight loss and reduced meat quality, according to Karen Schwean-Lardner, PhD, professor of poultry science, University of Saskatchewan. I propose this study to the attention of my new contacts in the first place I have been visiting in the Baltic region during last week. I am also happy to answer questions from all interested as well. Please, do not stop asking.... :-) #meatprocessing #proteinproduction #moleaerwatertreatment #moleaer #wastewater #industrialwastewater
In poultry processing, stringent cleanliness standards mandate the heavy use of surfactants and antimicrobials. While crucial for hygiene, these compounds disrupt lagoon biology, leading to foul odors that impact surrounding areas. Miller Amish Country Poultry faced this challenge, receiving complaints from neighbors and staff about odors emanating from their lagoons. Curious to learn how Moleaer assisted Miller in overcoming their #wastewater lagoon challenges? Frankly, I don't know why; however, we might understand. As a hen seems stronger than a eagle to her kids, as earthworms connects souls in and upon the soil. Sun shine weights the same to plants as moonlight, while the stars far, far away guide the way to the sailors. We might never know, however, we would understand. // References in brief: https://lnkd.in/gEZZdQ9T Poultry Signals: A Practical Guide for Bird Focused Poultry Farming (2011) https://lnkd.in/gSzPRGan 寵物通心術(二版):自學動物溝通的62個練習. What is pH? pH is a way to measure how acidic or basic water is. It uses a scale from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral, like pure water. Below 7 is acidic, and above 7 is basic (or alkaline). Ideal pH Range for Poultry (5.5 < pH < 6.5): More than 5.5 and less than 6.5 range is considered good for water quality. It means the water is slightly acidic but not too much. This balance is important for many biological processes in animals, like birds. Comprehensive article for poultry water quality understanding https://lnkd.in/gxf5he79

Dustbathing occurs in all commercial chicken housing housing systems, even in caged systems with no substrate. But why do chickens dustbathe? In the latest issue of Poultry Press from Poultry Extension Collaborative, Rosie Whittle, PhD, and Shawna Weimer, PhD, University of Arkansas, explain this behavior and why chickens are so motivated to do it. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e_wdtgHK #poultryhousing #cagefree #poultrywelfare
