🚀 **Project Launch THyGr: Climate-Friendly Air Mobility through Innovative Materials and Processes** 🌍✈️  At Lilium, we're not just envisioning climate-conscious regional air mobility, we're actively constructing it with a ground-breaking battery-electric VTOL. The cornerstone of our jet's economic and eco-friendly production lies in trailblazing materials and processes.  Thermoplastic composite (TPC) hybrid structures herald immense capabilities. We're redefining design by integrating organo-sheets, TPC hollow profiles, and injection-molded functional elements in a seamless design through a fully automated process. Our mantra: reduced weight, slashed costs, lessened assembly efforts, high quality, and striving toward zero-waste production.  In the THyGr project, we're exploring efficient lightweight designs and processes, underpinned by high-performance thermoplastics, recycling-conscious component design, and real-time quality assurance. Leveraging structural and process simulations abetted by AI-powered quality assurance tools, we're closing the digital design loop, mitigating technical risks, and fast-tracking commercial application.     Lilium, playing a pivotal role in the aviation sector, integrates these innovative components into its eVTOL vehicles. Andrea Pontremoli approach to #innovation at Dallara during AssetClassic ‘s #TheClassicsForum: a) To be innovative means to do something first, which is very important when you are in #competition (where you either win or learn) b) One needs to be able to make mistakes, to be innovative… there are 3 possible #models for this: i) Corporate: set up an R&D department with a license to make mistakes within a defined budged ii) Financial: invest #diversifying in several innovative companies with the expectation of few being successful iii) Technological: making mistakes through #technology, very rapidly and at at very low cost. This is #Dallara approach making up to 40k shape simulations for a #F1 car iv) #OpenInnovation: according to a quoted CEOs Survey 70% of innovation comes from outside the company, from top level suppliers, customers, universities... ...that’s why a whole district that is a “knowledge area”, such as the #MotorValley an ecosystem of 16k very specialized companies leader in their own areas in #automotive, can innovate together! (as the speaker is trying to do promoting initiatives such as the Motorvehicle University of Emilia Romagna (MUNER)) Bonus reminder was that the drivers of a car performance are: -50% Aerodynamics -35% Weight -15% Engine and Dallara designed the #Stradale, its only own branded #car, accordingly (in the pics the CEO's chassis #2 at the event)! A real bottom-up democratization focused on daily user habits with the aim of “connecting” dots at best: the dots of daily life devices with daily life mobility, the dots of a still fragmented mobility value chain in a new holistic value generation approach at any stage. And we are proud to have unveiled our new TUC.tiny pivot point during the first National Day of Made In Italy, taking place in occasion of Leonardo Da Vinci’s birthday.
