🥽 This is a wow. Jeff Richardson is using Apple Vision Pro for work, He's viewing the equivalent of two 5K monitors. 😯 This is the first article on working with Vision Pro which I have read. But then, Jeff is always ahead of the rest of us. ;) #lawyers #legaltech https://lnkd.in/d7fvJiaH

I find these kind of articles somewhat irritating: https://lnkd.in/ed2H5ZYg If you look at the title "The M4 Macs are Coming and You Shouldn't Buy One" is just such clickbait. It's the age old say something negative about #Apple and you get more hits. The content of the article is sort of whatever. The argument I think is kinda silly given that the machine isn't even out and the author would have you believe its not useful unless you have an Intel #Mac. I will just speak from my own experience the difference between an M2 Pro and M3 Pro is sort of night and day–as was the move from M1 to M2. Looking at a spec sheet you might not get that, but day to day you notice that extra power under the hood. Obviously this is workflow dependent, but for someone like me who is running VMs, Containers, playing with AI, reverse engineering, coding and playing Factorio those extra percentage points can add up. So here is a novel idea–rather than prognosticating about whether the new M4 stuff is valuable with no real data to back it up–we could just wait and see. If it proves to be whatever, then fine. I think, however, that the Apple Intelligence move might prove the "don't buy" advice wrong. #technews #osx #applesilicon

🌟 Exciting Times in Tech: The New Mac Mini with M4 and M4 Pro Chips 🌟 As an embedded systems student and technology enthusiast, I am continually captivated by the rapid pace of technological advancements. Today, I am particularly fascinated by Apple’s latest tech: the Mac Mini, powered by the M4 and M4 Pro chips, based on cutting-edge TSMC's second generation 3nm technology(N3E node) and enhanced with on-device Apple intelligence. Many Mac products are yet to be released this week. This incredibly compact yet powerful device offers unparalleled performance at the same price point as the PC market, providing accelerated processing and energy efficiency through its sophisticated architecture. The integration of on-device machine learning further augments capabilities, facilitating seamless experiences across applications. While the rapid pace of technological evolution can sometimes make me feel uncertain about my skills and future prospects in this dynamic industry, I firmly believe that embracing these innovations presents opportunities for learning and personal growth. As technology continues to advance, so too can we, by adapting and expanding our knowledge. To fellow students and enthusiasts who may be experiencing similar sentiments, I encourage you to embrace the journey of learning and maintain a sense of curiosity. Let us navigate the uncharted waters of innovation with enthusiasm and determination. In fact, I utilized Apple’s intelligent features to refine the content of this post. 😂 #EmbeddedSystems #TechInnovation #MacMini #AppleM4 #armchips #LearningJourney #AI #3nmTechnology #apple #tsmc #arm #vlsi Disclaimer: This post may contain imagery/Links of Apple products, which are Apple’s exclusive intellectual property. Apple's new advertisement for the iPad Pro, titled "Crush," is absolutely stupid and has sparked worldwide controversy due to its perceived dystopian themes, drawing comparisons to its iconic 1984 commercial. In the original ad, a vibrant heroine disrupts a monotonous, authoritarian broadcast, symbolizing liberation from conformity. https://lnkd.in/gSDDRGJt The "Crush" ad depicts the destruction of various analog and artistic tools by a crushing machine, culminating in the reveal of the new, ultra-thin iPad Pro. https://lnkd.in/guScbHTp This imagery has been criticized for promoting a digital replacement of physical, creative mediums, suggesting a grim future for us creatives where digital technology overshadows traditional artistic practices. And they didn’t even include in the ad their plans for embedding AI into the tech. Critics, from academics to artists and other industry professionals have expressed their disappointment and concern over the ad's message, viewing it as a stark departure from the empowering narrative of the 1984 advertisement. It just goes to show that it is hard to hold onto freedom and liberty when institutions get too big and in Apple’s case bigger than many countries of the world. They just don’t care nor even want to hide it! #apple #1984 #orwellian

Apple’s new i-pad advert was “misunderstood” showing it lost its understanding. The news. Yesterday Apple’s Tim Cook launched the ad for the i-pad new 2024 model, which generated immediate huge global controversy. The company has apologized and stopped all plans to deploy the campaign further. huhttps://lnkd.in/dbUNFzfu Why did it happen? The ad, featuring a hydraulic press crushing various cultural objects (a piano, books, tins of paint) to make space for the slim iPad Pro was perceived as symbolizing the destruction of human #creativity. What is it that Apple misunderstood? The backlash against the ad reflects broader societal anxieties about the role of #technology in shaping human experiences. The hydraulic press symbolically represents the relentless march of technology, seemingly obliterating traditional forms of creativity and cultural artifacts. This resonates with concerns about the digitization of culture and the erosion of tangible, physical forms of expression. Psychologically, the ad touches on primal fears and desires. The imagery of destruction triggers a visceral response, evoking feelings of loss and existential anxiety. Humans, we all, have a deep-seated attachment to cultural artifacts and creative expression, which are integral to our sense of #identity and #connection to others. Finally, for us at Sidel and many of our customers, who are obsessed with environmental #sustainability, crashing "things" is not consistent with the circularity approach of reduce, re-use, re-cycle, reinvent. Apple, like other tech giants, has positioned itself as a champion of creativity and innovation. But there is a tension inherent in this narrative. The ad's emphasis on the iPad's thinness and power highlights Apple's focus on product features and technological prowess, rather than the broader societal implications of its products. So what? This story reminded me of "Misunderstood", a famous holiday ad from 2013, which tells the story of a seemingly disconnected teenager who is completely focused on his iPhone during a family gathering. Throughout the ad, viewers assume he is disengaged from the festivities, but in a heartwarming twist at the end, it's revealed that he has been using his iPhone to capture and edit a touching family video that he shares with everyone. The ad highlights the ways in which technology can facilitate #connections and foster meaningful #relationships, challenging stereotypes about screen time and human interaction. Comparing these 2 approaches, we are reminded of the importance of #authenticity and #empathy in #advertising, especially when dealing with sensitive topics like technology's impact on culture and creativity. #communication #marketing #changemanagement https://lnkd.in/dKNS7y6B
