Adobe launches #FireflyServices, a set of APIs during #AdobeSummit but it falls short of my expectations. Mark my words, Adobe Firefly cannot sustain its flight for long without depth and breadth of its APIs. So far, Adobe has been timid on focusing on APIs. Adobe must, clearly, see the difference between casual-users and professional-users. ADOBE MUST APPRECIATE AUTOMATION! I have been begging Adobe to give us APIs for video editing, mainly stitching sub-clips from various footage into one clip. How to create Side Image Glow Effect Adobe

Adobe is introducing a new Illustrator feature that I’m personally excited about! With their Layouts Variations feature we should be able to automatically resize a design in multiple sizes. If they nail this, it’s gonna be a real game changer. Think about a campaign with 5 static ads that need to be resized in 20 sizes for social and display. Before, it took hours or days to turn that around. Managing all the variations was a pain. Quality control was boring, but necessary because what if the designer accidentally forgot to put the legal bug on one version? If Adobe gets this right, we can significantly reduce the amount of time and effort required to work through the less-shiny parts of rolling out a campaign. I have used Adobe products since the beginning of my career. But I have to say as of late I've developed some fatigue for the brand tied to recurring issues in their tools. Adobe dominates the creator tool market--I'd go so far as to say that they already operate a monopoly in that industry--and to have critical features in their tools go without fixes impairs our ability to create. Without competition, Adobe's tools are sustained by network effects and switching costs. If anyone has had great experiences with lesser known tools that replace Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere, I would gladly try them out. But, case in point, the Adobe caption tool in Premiere has been there for a while, and utterly destroys my workflow with its grind-to-a-halt behavior when simply drawing text on top of video: https://lnkd.in/gsnKFn6y. I mean--wow, just crazy.
