Do you know what Kentucky Fried Chicken is????? 1. Harland David Sanders was born on September 9, 1890, in Henryville, Indiana. He grew up in a poor family and faced numerous challenges during his childhood. 2. Sanders held various jobs during his youth, including farmhand, streetcar conductor, railroad fireman, and insurance salesman. 3. In 1930, at the age of 40, Sanders opened a small service station in Corbin, Kentucky, where he began serving home-cooked meals to travelers. His fried chicken recipe, seasoned with his secret blend of 11 herbs and spices, became immensely popular. 4. In 1936, Sanders expanded his operation by opening "Sanders Court & Café," a restaurant that featured his famous fried chicken. 5. By the early 1950s, Sanders began franchising his chicken recipe to other restaurant owners. He travelled across the country, signing franchise agreements and sharing his recipe with potential partners. 6. In 1952, Sanders officially franchised his recipe, establishing the Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation (now known as KFC). The first franchise was opened in Salt Lake City, Utah. 7. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, KFC experienced rapid growth, with new franchises opening across the United States and eventually internationally. 8. Sanders became the face of KFC, adopting the title of "Colonel" and appearing in advertising campaigns promoting the brand. 9. In 1964, at the age of 74, Sanders sold his interest in KFC for $2 million to a group of investors. However, he retained the title of "Colonel" and continued to serve as a public spokesperson for the company. 10. Colonel Sanders passed away on December 16, 1980, but his legacy lives on. KFC remains one of the world's most popular fast-food chains, serving millions of customers worldwide with Sanders' famous fried chicken recipe. Age is just a number. Age is just a number... The founder of KFC was a loser until he was 65, he had no money, he borrowed $87 and started making fried chicken wings. He failed 1,009 times before he was able to sell his first franchise. By age 88, he became a billionaire. KFC (also commonly referred to by its historical name Kentucky Fried Chicken) was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression. Sanders identified the potential of restaurant franchising, and the first "Kentucky Fried Chicken" franchise opened in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1952. KFC popularized chicken in the fast-food industry, diversifying the market by challenging the established dominance of the hamburger. Branding himself "Colonel Sanders", the founder became a prominent figure of American cultural history, and his image remains widely used in KFC advertising. The company's rapid expansion made it too large for Sanders to manage, so in 1964 he sold the company to a group of investors led by John Y. Brown Jr. and Jack C. Massey. 3i Industrial-Solutions #businessinsights #businessanalysis #inspiringleadership #inspiringstories #inspiringpeople

I decided to go to Kroger AND Publix today for sushi Wednesday because why not? Kroger is $6. The # of sushi is the same. I realized the packaging is the same...of course, the business side of me...I had to figure out who is this Zenshi contractor. They aren't just contractors...they are a franchise! Which means I can get a hold of their Franchise Disclosure Document. There is no item 19 (financial representation) but I gleaned other tidbits. First their franchisee fee is low. I've been used to seeing high franchise fees that shaft you... $60k vs $6k. Someone needs to pay the franchise broker, after all (no offense to my franchise broker friends...) The grocery store takes 25% of revenue. Most are owner operators, which is probably why I see the same person there for many years. The list of ~4000 franchisees seems to be all Asian Reddit says they make decent money but work 7 days a week..but again, no Item #19, no easy way to find out. The working 7 day a week to keep fresh sushi stocked is like any other restaurant...except they only work a few core hours, not staying past 10PM like typical Asian takeout restaurants and having to work in a hot kitchen...so there's some appeal for first generation Asians to do this than to run a restaurant. The franchisor also offers financing, which would be a great opportunity for newcomers to the USA without credit #franchasing #smb

SIDE STREET FANS & FRANCHISEES HAVE THEIR SAY... Side Street Burgers is preparing to open more stores, welcoming two new multi-unit franchisees and their teams to the network. In the meantime, this is what our existing multi-unit partners had to say about their experience as Side Street franchise owners: "It has been an absolute pleasure working with the owners of Side Street Burgers in opening a franchise store. The support and guidance received by both Idrees & Yasir, and by their team, and their willingness to take on feedback, has made this entire process so much easier. They have a refreshing outlook to franchising which is rare to see. Furthermore, what has been truly inspirational for me as a franchisee is seeing and understanding their vision for the brand and their excitement towards it." Suhail, Walthamstow, Reading and Green Street (Upton Park) "I was looking in the market to bring something exciting and fresh to Bonnyrigg. This is one of the many reasons why Side Street and Us fitted so well. They are a brand who have exceeded our expectations from the moment we declared interest in Franchising. We will be opening more branches following the success of Bonnyrigg. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support we receive on a daily basis. The team at Side Street have consistently given us guidance on how to improve in the branch, and where we can make the 1% difference everyday to become better. The rapid growth of the brand is exciting for us and anyone else associated with them". - Ali, Edinburgh, Scotland "I’ve been following Side Street since their birth in 2020, watching how they’ve differentiated themselves from others who were serving Smash Burgers. My experience has been amazing, I now have multiple franchises with them and with every branch I have seen the same consistent support. Side Street has put in a structure from the top down, to ensure no branch is on its own from the start. It’s been a pleasure working with everyone, especially the proactive and creative marketing team." - Mubeen, Rochdale & Fallowfield, Manchester If that's not all, with the roll out of new products, let's hear what the fans had to say about the new American BBQ menu. Which Franchise Restaurant Offers Better Success: Wingstop or Little Caesars? Answers: https://lnkd.in/g_UHAXPE #FranchiseTalk #RestaurantBusiness #Wingstop #LittleCaesars Hey everyone! 🌟 I’ve been diving into the world of franchises and found two restaurants that really caught my eye: **Wingstop** and **Little Caesars**. 🍗🍕 I genuinely believe both have potential to thrive if you play your cards right! Wingstop: Their growth has been impressive, and who doesn’t love wings? They’ve got a fantastic fan base and keep drawing people in, which is crucial for any restaurant seeking to franchise. Little Caesars: The appeal of “pizza pizza” is undeniable! With their affordable prices and quick service, they seem to attract lots of traffic too. From a business standpoint, I think both places could rack up considerable foot traffic, especially in bustling areas where people are always on the go and looking for tasty, quick meals. 🌍✨ So here’s my question for you: If you were given the chance to franchise one of these restaurants, which one would you pick? And why? 🤔 I’d love to hear your thoughts, insights, and any experiences you ...

Since the franchise launch, Beyond Juicery + Eatery has faced increased development and operating costs across the board. But those challenges turned into opportunities for the franchise to look inward and ask what costs the brand could absorb to help franchisees, CEO Mijo Alanis said. “We have made changes internally that the guests would not see, from how we make things, to better purchasing power and we’ve been able to lower our food costs,” he said. https://lnkd.in/gr2PaPdz

3 major takeaways from the 2024 Multiunit Franchise Conference in Las Vegas: 1️⃣ The International Franchise Association (IFA) and the National Association of Restaurants (NRA) have been in a political battle with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) over the structure of the franchise model among other issues. The SEIU is putting pressure on franchisors to assume responsibility of the labor forces their franchisees employ. This could potentially alter the franchise model dramatically. If regulatory bills pass that the SEIU are backing, Franchisees would have much less control over their operations, as the franchisors would be liable for much more or all of the process regarding any employee or contractor agreement in the overall organization. Though this regulatory battle is primarily occurring in California, those in the industry believe similar situations could arise all across the country soon after. It’s safe to say every franchise restaurant in the country is watching this unfold closely. 2️⃣ In the restaurant industry franchises are both getting larger and smaller. Franchisees of QSRs and FSRs now have soda shops like Swig to contend with on the beverage side and smaller footprint specialized concepts like sliders to contend with in food service. On the expanded side they also have a wave of eatertainment establishments aiming to capitalize on activity trend like pickleball adding to the dining experience. Restaurant owners are faced with a challenge: change the business model entirely to keep up or shine a new light on their existing model to protect their market share. 3️⃣ Ghost kitchens are not dead but they are evolving. Covid ushered in a slew of virtual brands operated out of kitchens owned by established brands. While this trend has died down a lot over the past 6 months, it is not gone. Now restaurants are using the learnings they took from COVID GKs and turning them into their own restaurants in some cases. After evolving to survive during COVID, Hooters launched several GKs under the name Hooties. They adapted to focusing on food rather than…atmosphere. Now, they’ve launched a more family friendly concept called Hoots that leaves behind the orange shorts. Ghost kitchens can be used as a working lab to test new menu items, LTOs and entirely new concepts to expand portfolios for existing franchise restaurants. #MUFC #franchises #restaurantindustry #ghostkitchens #franchiserestaurant #innovation #multiunitfranchise
