Attention Hiring Teams! Are you hiring for a Graphic Designer but also expect proficiency in Video Editing—including tools like After Effects and Premiere Pro? 🤔 Here's a thought: If you're asking for both graphic design and video editing skills, why not adjust the salary to reflect the true skill set you're requesting? Graphic design and video editing are two distinct fields that require specialized knowledge and expertise. Asking for both without offering a corresponding salary upgrade might just undervalue the true worth of these multifaceted professionals. 🎨🎥 So, if you're hiring for a position that requires both graphic design and video editing, consider this: Shouldn’t the compensation match the complexity of the job? 💡 Graphic designers are versatile, but asking them to wear multiple hats—especially at an advanced level of video editing—deserves recognition in their pay. Let's start valuing talent appropriately! 💼💵 #GraphicDesign #VideoEditing #Hiring #SalaryMatters #CreativeProfessionals #AfterEffects #PremierePro #JobMarket #PayEquity
I have seen job posts that need a Graphic Designer to have 3D experience as well
Agreed! 💯 It's a two way street... You want me to take up role of creatives in other fields? Fine, but you'll have to reflect that in your compensation model. Win-win! 📌
Even if there is a salary adjustment, I don’t find the work load of graphic design + video editing feasible in the long run.
100% unfortunately 99% of hiring managers are less than qualified too be hiring because they know nothing of the roles they hire for...
This! I lost a graphic design job recently because I couldn't do 2d animations. I agree with you. Roles should be clearly distinct
I still remember in my early days I had a client who wanted me to make a pamphlet for local promotion I was like 500 rps for the design He said "arre itna kaun leta hai 10-12rps mein nipta do" I was like "Sir vada pav bhi 15rps ka hai!! Please understand the effort I am gonna put...". He found my proposal too costly... I found it indecent... I walked out It's important for clients/companies to understand creativity is work! only then they will understand the value and pay accordingly We have a lot of people who look down on creativity...
I don't think companies even educate themselves on how the skills etc work. They just say we need this! If there's a recruiter involved it might help. It's pretty ignorant that employers have no idea what anyone does but that's how they are and they don't care and they aren't going to change.
