A 71% drop in organic traffic after 6 years of work to create... gone in a flash 😭 This is what happens when you don't include SEO stakeholders in decisions that directly impact your website and primary lead generation engine. This is a former client of mine, a business we helped grow into a dominant player in their space on the back of a 230% increase in organic traffic and a 276% increase in leads generated from organic traffic. This growth eventually helped lead them to an acquisition by a very large multinational company who had their own inhouse marketing team and ultimately with us parting ways with them. With no SEO voice in the decision making room, they appear to have made the decision to rebrand the company and "slim" down the website to the point that they have nuked 75% of their indexed pages and, as a result, wiped out 71% of their organic traffic. From working closely with the brand over the years, I know that this would be a loss in the region of hundreds of leads a month and well over a million dollars in annual revenue...

1yWe couldn't agree more Mitchell Kelly. At The Cut We always strongly that our ecomm clients involve an SEO consultant to oversee the SEO migration stages on all platform migrations. It's not a huge expense to safeguard a hugely valuable asset ie. the SEO 'juice' that is always hard earned over a long time.
