Why I dislike demos…. Many retailers want you to participate in demos on a regular shopping day but it just doesn’t work. You’ll likely reach a very limited amount of people within a 3-4 hour time slot and pay upwards of $400 for the demo if you’re unable to do it yourself. If there is an event, or a sale day… Demos are a great way to gain exposure for your brand and the retailer may often see an extended group of customers outside of the regulars. But what else can be done besides hoping that your demo day is a success? One thing we have been testing and continue to test is to create online campaigns to boost awareness! Work with the retailer on an advertising initiative to educate new consumers and drive that traffic to the retailer. Geolocate paid ad’s in partnership with the location to boost awareness and drive new traffic. This trick helps not only your brand, but also the retailer with new customers. Some retailers may also participate in a sale, split ad costs etc in exchange for your efforts. What are some other effective ways you can build brand awareness that is not the same old?
